From FOX:
DEVELOPING: Loud explosions and gunfire were heard in the Egyptian capital of Cairo Friday, as protesters demanding the removal of President Hosni Mubarak defied a curfew, Al Jazeera reported. Egyptian television reports the ruling party headquarters in Cairo are on fire.
From TWITTER:
WashingtonPost: Clinton: We urge #Egypt authorities to allow peaceful protest, reverse unprecedented steps it has taken to cut off communications less than 20 seconds ago
This is the standard BS that is put out by the chosen ones. Just ask any Iranian if they were totally happy with Khomeini within a few short months after his return?
There's that word again.
AJELive: #Egypt police to return to streets tomorrow, sources have told Al Jazeera. Meanwhile, protesters continue to demonstrate across the country
Al Jazeera just interveiwed prisoners who escaped from Egyptian prisoners last night and now already back in Gaza. They were Army of Islam terrorist prisoners and vowed to keep on attacking Israel, so lets face it, a lot of very dangerous terrorists got away last night. He said there were 1,200 prisoners in his section, all islamic prisoners.
Israel must be real happy with Obama right now.
We will see. According to Swedish news sources the miitary appears to take over in cities outside Cairo: Sharm-el Sheik, and other towns in southern Egypt. In Alexandria the situation is unclear; still lots of protesters out on the streets.
According to security sources (reported by Reuters) the security police will return out on the streets of Cairo tomorrow.
Maybe Mubarak, Suleiman etc are playing a long game, a waiting game. As long as there is no rebellion in the armed forces the crowds cannot take over the power. Eventually food and other resources are going to become scarce, and there will be louder calls for return to order. However, one wonders why and who released El-Baradei?
” Just ask any Iranian if they were totally happy with Khomeini within a few short months after his return? “
That’s the pattern with all ‘popular’ uprisings - they get coopted by budding dictators, and by the time the people realize they’re not ‘happy’, their happiness, or unhappiness, is no longer relevant....
(There is one notable exception to this rule, and one could argue that it’s happening here, too - albiet belatedly...)
Don't know whether to laugh or to shudder.
Thanks for the link. Read it this morning. Thank God there are some on our side who aren’t falling for this anti-american/anti israel ruse of a ‘democracy’ revolt. No telling what the markets are going to do tomorrow. My guess is that they are gonna tank even more. If Obama truly cared about stability and US interests, he would be sending in US ships to control the Suez Canal and Hormuz Straights when this thing blows up throughout the Middle East.
RT @alshaheeed: Aljazeera reporter: AlBaradei is not feeling well & had to leave Tahrir square without doing a speech. #Egypt #Jan25 #Mubarak
I think you're right.
I just saw him make the speech.
What are you watching? What did he say?
Maybe he caught Obammy’s intestinal parasites from their last meeting.
That’s exactly right. The only thing the US should be worried about right now is the Suez Canal and Hormuz Straights.
Here’s a scenario - infighting between Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran over the flow of oil, etc. Egypt forcing the others for a slice of the pie, so to speak. You cannot pass go without paying the fee...
ROFLMAO!
Obama out on the Golf Course, Boehner trying to “catch up with him” to discuss what to do about the situation!
To use a phrase from the Khomeini speech “to cut off the hands of the devil”!
How is he a authority now? I thought he was just IAEA guy?
Exactly. ‘Change’ becomes ‘exerted effort’ and that is quite a well-known word in Arabic and around the world. See the “Audacity of Hope” Indonesian translation.
