Al Jazeera just interveiwed prisoners who escaped from Egyptian prisoners last night and now already back in Gaza. They were Army of Islam terrorist prisoners and vowed to keep on attacking Israel, so lets face it, a lot of very dangerous terrorists got away last night. He said there were 1,200 prisoners in his section, all islamic prisoners.
Israel must be real happy with Obama right now.
We will see. According to Swedish news sources the miitary appears to take over in cities outside Cairo: Sharm-el Sheik, and other towns in southern Egypt. In Alexandria the situation is unclear; still lots of protesters out on the streets.
According to security sources (reported by Reuters) the security police will return out on the streets of Cairo tomorrow.
Maybe Mubarak, Suleiman etc are playing a long game, a waiting game. As long as there is no rebellion in the armed forces the crowds cannot take over the power. Eventually food and other resources are going to become scarce, and there will be louder calls for return to order. However, one wonders why and who released El-Baradei?

That’s the pattern with all ‘popular’ uprisings - they get coopted by budding dictators, and by the time the people realize they’re not ‘happy’, their happiness, or unhappiness, is no longer relevant....
(There is one notable exception to this rule, and one could argue that it’s happening here, too - albiet belatedly...)

Thanks for the link. Read it this morning. Thank God there are some on our side who aren’t falling for this anti-american/anti israel ruse of a ‘democracy’ revolt. No telling what the markets are going to do tomorrow. My guess is that they are gonna tank even more. If Obama truly cared about stability and US interests, he would be sending in US ships to control the Suez Canal and Hormuz Straights when this thing blows up throughout the Middle East.
