Still, with all due respect to the field of this week's victors, the storyline of one winner stands above the rest: John Kasich is the governor-elect of Ohio.
But more telling than just his win is how he did it: by withstanding an Obama onslaught; turning back liberal fear attacks with a message of hope; and offering a leaner, more efficient alternative to big government run amuck.
In short, if Barack Obama's spend and tax presidency for the past two years is a question, John Kasich emerged Tuesday night as the logical answer.
Kasich took the president's best shot - 12 of them to be exact - and never strayed from the notion that results trump rhetoric.

A very good guy and I have always liked him. I would vote for Kasich for Pres. His only problem may be he is a little too modest and self effacing i.e. he is not an ego maniac. He is 180% of the imperious Mugabe-in-training muslim.
He strangled one horrible boondoggle before he even took office. Not a bad start.
The guy’s a DeadHead. I’ll bet he supports medical marijuana
Oh crap. Christie is a mega Springsteen fan - gag. LEahy is a huge Dead fan. The Dead and Springsteen exponentially suck.
Or, Kasich - West?
>>The guys a DeadHead. Ill bet he supports medical marijuana<<
He was marvelous on his Fox show.
LOL! Where is that Willie Green guy who loves light rail and high speed train boondoggles?
Buckeyes have elected a good man. The whole state looks rosier.
It starts with a left hook.
We were fortunate, indeed, to have elected John Kasich. Another Strickland term would have finished off Ohio.
Even at 7$ gasoline, automobile transportation is more efficient when construction, maintenance, and operating costs are figured in.
That is why Chrissy Matthews was whining about high speed rail in the rust belt would save the country. It seemed to come out of left field. Makes sense now.
Love Kasich. Hope he does well.
Isn’t it great when Wolverines and Buckeyes can get along?
Am so proud of what has happened in our two states up here.
This was quite the message to the nation.
Talk about a shellacing: Because of the landslide victory in Ohio, the redistricting commission here gets 4 Republicans and only 1 Democrap.
This is the man who balanced the budget in the 90’s. He can bring the GOP back to the Contract with America.
LOL Scott Walker did the same thing here in WI.
Is that the last word now?
I read it was dead this morning, then I read that the deal had been quietly finalized and signed over the weekend and that it was a done deal.
Ding-dong the rail is dead.
