Update at 3:30 p.m. ET. NPR CEO Vivian Schiller just released this statement:
"I spoke hastily and I apologize to Juan and others for my thoughtless remark."
That follows, as you'll see below, her comment earlier today that now-former NPR news analyst Juan Williams should have kept his feelings about Muslims between himself and "his psychiatrist or his publicist."

Prior to this Muslim comment incident, I wanted Williams fired. But that’s only because I wanted everyone at NPR fired. I still do. Add all of the people at PBS, the National Endowments for the Humanities and Arts, etc., and so forth.

I never liked Juan's opinions, but I hope he sues NPR into oblivion.

We need to defund NPR.
That certainly reflects poorly on NPR. I believe that is a violation of their policies, and therefore she should fire herself.

Vivian Schiller was named senior vice president and general manager of NYTimes.com in May 2006. In this role, she leads the day-to-day operations of NYTimes.com, the largest newspaper Web site on the Internet. Ms. Schiller had previously served as senior vice president, Television and Video for The New York Times and also executive vice president and general manager for the Discovery Times Channel, a joint venture with Discovery Communications. I do insurance and the first thing after I read her remarks this morning was dang, we taxpayers are going to pay big for this.
I didn’t even know there were Blacks at NPR. Funny that the left whines about racism, when they are the racists.
