National talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced to Larry King Tuesday night on his CNN program she would end her radio show at the end of the year.
“The reason is I want to regain my First Amendment rights,” she told King, one week after an Aug. 10 episode of her program in which she used – and later apologized for – using the N-word in a caller discussion regarding racially hurtful words.

She should not quit over this trifle. If a person of color states a degrading word about a person of non-color it is accepted, but the converse is not true, which to me is casebook discrimination. In addition, why is she apologizing and then quitting? This just looks as if she were so “wrong” that the station managers told her to quit….where is the spine of her management, sponsor’s and her? This is America…she should stop apologizing as there is no need as freedom of speech means ….FREE to Speak! I certainly do not see Whoopi Goldberg being fired for each of her “I hate white people” comments or Chris Rock for saying the “N” word, as it is now referred, in his comedy act. What is next on the PC list that will be forbidden ...Jesus, God, Father, Bible, etc…

While she was often right on the facts, I must say that at times Dr. Laura struck me as a bit of a bully. When they took her off the main station here in St. George and put in Dave Ramsey instead, I can’t say I was disappointed.
In her zest to “rouse” callers to action, often she sounded just plain mean.
Every Hispanic and Black teenager on the street uses that word. About 10,000 times a day. I guess the PC crowd doesn’t get out much. Or they don’t roll down the windows on their limos.
Having said that, I have no sympathy for this person. I am white and never use the word. Ever. I don’t have to think about it and it requires zero cognitive energy on my part. I long ago removed that word from my vocabulary and it never comes out of my mouth. Ever. It’s an easy thing to do. Unless you’re a moron. Which she obviously is.

I don’t use the word in everyday conversation, but by current definition, it fits those AAs who are racists. They are what they are- the N word aptly describes the racism by black people who then hide behind their color and PC BS.
Get the word out in the open, and it will lose its impact. Keep it as a weapon for the PC Nazis and we will forever be ENSLAVED by it.
Reminds me of George Carlin’s skit when he used the word DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS. Get it out there, make people understand it is all around us and it shouldnt be ignored because it DOES permeate our society by the users (who are mostly minorities, and they speak the word daily.)

I have the right to offend, just as do you. she did nothing to offend, but made an attempt to reconcile the dichotomy found in the term.
