Risk - so how many teens sailing around the world DIE? As an absolute number and as a percentage. Ditto teen drivers. Gather that data, get back to me when you have it.

Either you want to discuss it or not. Your choice.

Not only am I willing to discuss it, I am willing, and have been, discussing it on your terms:

This from your post #317....... No. She wants to be famous.

To which I replied, in post #330: "While I think it’s more than just wanting to be famous, for sake of discussion, I’ll accept that for a moment.

She only did this to be famous. OK."

All of my posts since then (#330) have reflected your (not mine) stated objective that she did this to become famous.

--------

Two questions of you:

First, has she become famous?

Second, do you now want to expand on her objectives for taking on this trip? If so, list a couple.

More likely envy is a root of criticism.

Do you criticize liberals because of envy? Or because you think they're stupid?

Look back at the context. I was drawing attention to the misuse of the word "jealousy." It is not a synonym of "envy."

Oh yeah. She’s famous.

Well, I think so too.

Therefore, she met the mission objective you yourself laid out for her in your post #317, "She's doing this to become famous".

I'm not sure what more can be said, except Successful Trip, Mission Accomplished.

Just like the pioneers.

Well the online dictionary lists it as a synonym and so does my 1978 Thesaurus. *shrug*

Just like the pioneers.

I gave you the definition of pioneer in post 317. She didn't meet any of the criteria.

That list may be a reflection of your entire train of thought on this subject, narrow, unimagnative, and designed primarily to prove your point, rather than find the truth.

Pioneer: 2 a : a person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity or a new method or technical development

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pioneer

She has clearly opened up a new activity for 16 year olds, thus my tag as a pioneer.

I gave you a link to the online dictionary.

And now that the insults have started, we are done.

Good night.

Chuckle, after I beat you 5 ways to Sunday, how did I know you would run away in a snit?

Bwahahahahaha.

You are totally lacking common sense if you really think a young girl sailing solo around the the world is an acceptable risk. I think the death rate for U.S. teen-agers is something like 50 deaths/100,000. That is 50 family tragedies per 100,000 teenagers. Too many. Perhaps you’ve never been the parent of teen-agers. Perhaps you’ve never experienced the needless death of a child and so don’t take it as seriously as other do.

Not quite. Have I called you ANY names? Insulted you in ANY way?

I have been up since 6am. It is now 11:42pm and I'm tired and I hurt and I am not in the mood to be insulted. If you can't discuss this without insults, the adult thing for me to do is walk away.

So you don’t know. You make assumptions. Those you made about me fall short. So do those regards teen drivers versus teen sailors. You ‘feel’. That is a liberal mindset. Guard yourself against that. Ditto making assumptions.
