Once he wins Obama's seat, he will be declared by the media as a foaming-at-the-mouth far-right extremist.

The Combine happened. A fix that makes the old Soviet elections look respectable and honest.

Hardly. It’s Illi-f***ing-nois! There are just some places a true conservative can’t win. Illinois is one of them.

Hell NO! It’s Illinois. Can’t expect any better than a RINO from there.

Analysts predicted that a clear Kirk victory would take much of the steam out of the tea-party movement. Wishful thinking on the part of "analysts."

The ONLY upside is that Kirk has the best chance to “steal “Obama’s” seat”.

I don't know how Illinois is set up, but maybe there was some of that cross-party voting, letting the dems vote for the most liberal RINO...like they did for McCain.

Two things come to mind:
1) The Tea Party movement wasn’t as involved in this one.
2) Fine, let the rinos finance this campaign. Get them to motivate the base. We’ll see how that goes.

What happened is Chicago. The atypical dome of the MidWest!
I really don’t care much to go over the border. Your dealing with decades of indoctrination and a whole different mentality. Look how much they are taxed in the city. Look at the hikes done on all the tolls around the city. There’s been no anti-movement gaining ground on even these issues, I’m not too surprised by the outcome with these elections. The lemmings take it gleefully.

don't blame me, I voted for Hughes.
This writer doesn't say what "analysts" in "Analysts predicted that a clear Kirk victory would take much of the steam out of the tea-party movement."
Clicked through all the links and...nothing.
Kirk wins because of name recognition, pure and simple.
Illinois should be ripe for Repub pickins. Ain't gunna happen.
