NEW YORK - The Organization of American States (OAS) and the European Union agreed today to return their ambassadors to Honduras in Tegucigalpa, a city abandoned after the overthrow of Manuel Zelaya.

The OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza and Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, announced this decision after their meeting in New York with representatives of twelve countries in the Americas, the Spanish presidency of the EU and European Commission.

They also agreed to send as soon as possible (Friday or Saturday) a diplomatic mission to Tegucigalpa, composed of American foreign ministers, with the aim of launching a negotiation table.

They decided to meet the request of the Honduran Government, which requested the ambassadors to return once again Zelaya is in the country, with the aim of supporting "the field" this roundtable aimed at negotiating a peaceful solution to the crisis.

Moratinos, who advanced to his intention that Spain's ambassador to Tegucigalpa back early, made the "concern" of the EU and the OAS to the "gravity" of the crisis and once again called on the authorities to prevent it overflow and the situation which violates the immunity of the Brazilian embassy, where he is a refugee Zelaya.

Insulza remarked that the present moment, with the new constitutional president of Honduras, is "a great opportunity to sit down and negotiate and promote a peaceful solution" to restore legality in the country.

On Monday there been three months since the departure of Zelaya and no country has recognized the de facto government led by Roberto Micheletti.

As long as the Hondurans dont give in, I have no problems with it. They need to get on with their legal election without Zelaya.

Do you think your current President has been bought off?

Why are you not happy with this? What is your gut telling you, as a citizen of this country?

I’m furious at Barack Obama for spearheading the world drive to push over Honduras’s constitution, which should be more important than any personage. Then Obama has the nerve to say that a constitutional action isn’t “legal.” Have we walked through the looking glass or fallen down the rabbit hole? The only thing Honduras did wrong was to kick Zelaya out of the country instead of putting him in a Honduran jail. Zelaya scarcely has a right to complain.

after the overthrow of Manuel Zelaya.

He wasn't overthrown. He was legally removed by the countries Supreme Court just as ours should do to our usurper.

Do you know whether most of the people in Honduras want Zelaya to be gone?

this maybe a trap in order to have the ambassadors pressuring for his restitution.

or maybe he wants to play hide and seek in the embassies or get the ambassadors attacked to call a “peace keeping force”.

That's already been established back when this first started.

by any chance did you call into Sean Hannity today?

He had a caller from Honduras who said they feared the UN would call for peace keepers to be sent to your country.

That tells us nothing.

Does he even have the sham of the “people’s will”?

The reason. They can’t interfere unless they put people on the ground.

What so you think the plan is? Isn’t your election in November? If they are going to play a trick, they have to do something soon.

A newspaper (whose name i’m investigating) has said today that the reason for the intervention of Brazil is due to a offering of a permanent seat at the UN security council. The newspaper says that Z’s restitution=permanent seat.

There are some who support him, there are always communists about in any country. Yesterday when he came back only about 3,000 people(and that number is suspect)rallied for him. The demonstrations when he was first booted out of Honduras showed the crowds against him were much larger than the ones for him. All the FReeper Hondurans I have talked to say that the vast majority of the people wanted him gone. They have lived under a dictator in the past and they want no more of it(except for the fools such as we have also).

Without even the sham of being able to claim most people want him back, there’s no room to criticize what Honduras did (except for exiling Mr. Z instead of imprisoning him).

Does Honduras election law allow for write-ins? Why don’t they throw down the gauntlet, and say that if Zelaya gets a majority of votes through write-ins this November, then they’ll admit they have a problem, otherwise to jail he goes.

Ok, then we are going back to the reason this guy was outed in the first place. Honduras adopted most of the US constitution, with some exceptions. As I said they have lived under dictators before and want none of it. Their constitution is written so a President can only serve one term and if he tries to serve another he is out the door, it is against the law for Zelaya to even have tried to run again, but he did and ignored a court order to cease and desist.

A write in with him as candidate would be illegal.

He went so far as to print up phony ballets(he was going to use them in "his" election)and that was when the Supremes of Hounduras ordered the army to arrest him and deport him.

All this nonsense about a coup is just that, nonsense trumped up by the left wing governments of the world, including ours, in order to justify bringing him back to power.

The current President is an honorable and strong man. I would not let these ambassdors for OAS back into the country if I were him. They just want to stir up trouble.

The new election is coming up in November and they are trying to get this guy back into office, or to get Hondruan's government to make a compromise which would blow their constitution.
