A newspaper (whose name i’m investigating) has said today that the reason for the intervention of Brazil is due to a offering of a permanent seat at the UN security council. The newspaper says that Z’s restitution=permanent seat.

If either of you decide to start a Honduras ping list please add my name. I have been following what if going on there as best I can.

With the number of people I see responding to the various Honduras articles / threads on FR I suspect it would be a popular ping list to be on.

They sure are selling permanent Security Council seats cheaply nowadays. It used to be you needed to have lost hundreds of thousands of lives fighting the Nazis and Imperial Japanese.

I don’t know if I believe the rumor ofa quid pro quo, since (i) Brazil likely will be offered a permanent seat anyhow and (ii) Lula would interfere in favor of the chavista Zelaya on its own volition.

Godspeed in preserving your country’s constitutional democracy. ¡Que Dios bendiga a Honduras!
