Hey great idea! To get elected all we've got to do is...

Posted on 07/06/2009 9:07:41 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

...be more like them. All we've got to do is implement universal health care, sign on to global warming, sign all the international treaties we can, give amnesty to the illegals, give up on abortion, give up to gay rights, go along with the tax hikes on the wealthy, go along with taking over industry after industry, control the greedy CEO compensation plans, shut down our defense systems, scrap our nuclear weapons programs, scrap our navy, shut down the car companies, develop rapid transit, shut down the coal industry, switch to green power, etc, etc, etc. Oh yeah, support the commies in Cuba, Venezuela and Honduras and the Mullahs in Iran... and wipe Israel off the planet.

Oops, we're going to be in a war with Russia soon. Only this time they'll be the defending capitalists.

you forgot: believe that the solution to getting us less dependant on foreign oil is to block any attempt to increase production in the USA, like Dave Reichart.

I feel your pain Jim; (Betty Davis impression) "Rally I do...."

You have to laugh because the consequences of it all are to frightening to even think about.

Gonna have to draw up a new five year plan. Again.

I'll say. You didn't even plan for a habitat for the endangered ring-tailed prairie rat or the invasive leaping asian carp.

I really believe the tide is turning Jim. I feel it.

Obama is becoming ineffective even with a heavily. Democratic congress. He is starting to sound like Herbert Hoover. His positive words are not in touch with reality.

I just wonder how bad things are going to get before 2012. When people are unable to afford food because the dollar is worthless, we are talking about a lot of pain for a lot of people.

that Sarah Palin some people think is a fool and a loser... America may run to her in a hurry.

Jim, Did the Maverick spirit finally overcome you or has your account been highjacked by that Twitterbeast John Sidney?

Must be the summer blahs or something. I think the 4th of July got a lot of people depressed as many look around and see the current majority in DC doing everything they can to destroy this great nation. Porkulus Bills, Cap and Trade, Hillarycare, Government Motors, etc....
Its like one big country destroying tsunami after another and it appears to be hitting FReepers morale pretty hard lately.

Well, I finally thought of one positive outcome of Oafbama’s election - it has become much easier to identify RINOs and CINOs and neo-lib Republicans. Played right, the developing groundswell appalled by Chicago-style thugocracy will toss out 0’s handmaids, including every turncoat Republican.

We do have to be like them in one way at least. We have to develop an emotional appeal, critical thinking doesn't motivate like emotion does.

Let me illustrate the problem. If someone is hungry our emotional response is compassion to feed them. That is the Democratic line in a nutshell. A society is measured by how it treats the weakest and poorest members.

We need to come up with an emotional response to dealing with the needy (or ill, or out of work, etc.). Until we come up with that visceral answer we will be marginalized and defeated.

So JimRob why stop there, we can offer reparations, elect Putin to congress, abdicate all to Hugo Chavez and then castrate ourselves and laydown on barracks type racks cover ourselves in purple shrouds and suck poison, and wait for the flying saucers to take us to planet hollywood where we can toast to the dancing crabs who give power to all whom would be acceptable in the eyes of SHE WHO WILL BE OBEYED.

Just a thought.

Oh my, look at the time, the frog chants take your meds

Independence day festivities did seem to be rather muted this year. When we can’t even afford a lot of Chinese fireworks, things are getting seriously bad.

I like the freedom to pick my own health care plan. And I would more then love to tell obama where he can put his plan.

I didn’t think I would ever confess a wish we had gotten a Hillary! presidency, if the GOP was simply fated to lose this cycle. She couldn’t be half as bad as Barack.

The United States got where it is by charting its own course and defending (note that word) its choice. Now we have a traitor in chief posing as the Commander in chief and we’re going to have to weather this storm. We will! We must!!

Yeh, well, all the pundits say so. I mean, it's dawned on us by now but it doesn't seem to have penetrated the thick crania of the Experts that (1) they're 108% Democrat, and (2) oh so free with advice about how to reform the GOP to meet their expectations. It's good advice, really, intended to place conservatives in our intended place at the back of the class, grateful for the benevolent leadership of our obvious intellectual superiors.

And we're not buying it. Obviously it's a sign of our own inferiority. But there is in this the panic of a confidence man who sees his scam evaporating before his eyes, making ever more extravagant claims and wild accusations to attempt to recover the situation. Feel the fear.
