Does Keith Olbermann seriously want to waterboard Sean Hannity?
Entertainment Weekly ^ | Apr 29, 2009

Keith Olbermann wants to torture Sean Hannity. Or is it enhanced-interrogate him?

Last week, Charles Grodin was on Hannity, and the conversation turned, as so many do, to simulated drowning. Grodin says waterboarding is torture; Hannity says it's not, and then Grodin asked, "We can waterboard you?" Hannity replied, "Sure...I'll do it for charity. I'll let you do it." And then Keith Olbermann became obsessed with the statement, offering to give $1,000 to military families for every second of waterboarding Hannity could withstand. "And I'll double it, when you admit you feared for your life," he said on the air.

I'd like to think that Olbermann doesn't actually want Hannity to go through with this -- especially given that Olbermann devoted an entire segment to the legal definitions of torture, and said "the only thing in question is how human are those who condone it?" So, you know, too harsh to inflict on the enemies of our country, probs too harsh to inflict on Sean Hannity.

My guess is that Hannity won't ever acknowledge Olbermann, and the MSNBC anchor will have to just drop it -- and that's the best-case scenario. Otherwise, if Hannity (insanely) agrees to be waterboarded, there are two other possibilities: He says it's horrible, in which case we have tortured someone just to settle a TV wiener-wagging contest, or he says it's no big deal, which isn't going to change anyone's mind about anything ("See, I knew it: Not torture!" or "We can't recreate potentially-torturous conditions with a consenting participant who doesn't actually fear for his safety, so of course it didn't feel like torture to him."). Oh, and we'll have turned waterboarding into a sideshow. Another proud day!

Anyone actually think Hannity will respond to Olbermann's challenge? If he consented to be waterboarded on-air, would you watch?

Sure, let him waterboard Hannity. And then let’s hang him for engaging in torture. Deal? Sean could even pull the lever.

"Keith is secretly hoping Sean will put panties over Keith’s head .... and maybe a leash and collar, too."

Now, now, our boy Keith set the record "straight" on that...

Very interesting. I think the principle of it is that it gets into your sinuses, which is what causes panic. Notice he didn’t cough or spit when he sat up, so I don’t think he was “actually being drowned” which would mean that water was entering the lungs. I wonder if an experienced diver would be better prepared to deal with this sensation, since he’s probably had to deal with it at depth, on occasion.

How sweet. Olberputz is disturbed that enemy combatants who have taken up arms against this country might have to go through something that will make them fear for their lives. Hannity should agree to do this if Olberputz agrees to subject himself to a retroactive abortion.

Well I still hate to think of Sean Hannity getting waterboarded at the urging of some liberal. He seems like such a nice guy.

The whole point of waterboarding a terrorist is the person getting waterboarded is a terrorist who hangs out with people who lop off heads.

I would believe without question that Olberman would want to waterboard Hannity. He wants to be the one who would humiliate Hannity. That would make him feel like a big man.

Torture or not, I want to see Hannity follow through on his promise. Probably better if Olbermann’s not involved though...

Sean should accept the challenge.

1000 dollars a second? Hm...

1 minute = 60k
10 minutes = 600k
1 hr = 3.6 million

I’d try to bankrupt Olberman if I was Sean.

I think Olbermann should visit al-qaeda and let him find out first hand if what they do is torture.

I've been wanting to get a T-shirt for the last few
months that would read:

HOW TO SAVE AMERICA:

1) Water-board Terrorists

2) Drown Keith Olbermann

I volunteer to go in place of Sean Hannity and double the time Olberman would expect.

Wartime SERE endures this calibur of treatment and is not life endangering.

Olberwoman should volunteer to dangle from piano wire...I’m sure Freepers would put up the money to see that.

OK people, can we all agree that electrocuting people with 50,000 volts would be considered "torture"?

Every day we "taze" hundreds of people in homes and on the side of the road. My daughter had to be tazed to become a police officer. Are we going to ban tazers and bean bags and just shoot the bastards? I think an Al Quida would be thankful we didn't break any bones and remove skin in sensitive places. Of course we could always remove their heads with a butter knife over about a 20 minute span.

This arguing over water boarding is getting tedious for me. I have to tell you, in order to prevent a plane from hitting the Library Tower in LA, I would have removed the skin and broke the bones needed to find that out. Water boarding is easy, quick, and leaves no lasting marks. And that is just to save the fags, fruitcakes, and illegal aliens in LA, you can imagine what I would do to save real Americans.

Liberals have said waterboarding is NEVER justified.

I guess they lied.

Memo to Olbermann...
Keith...Keith. You are being a hypocrite.

IF YOU THINK IT IS ALWAYS IMMORAL to waterboard someone, why are you willing to have Hannity waterboarded?

It seems that you, too, are willing to recommend an immoral action when YOU think the ends justify it.

If the the interrogators gave money to charity each time they waterboarded someone, would that justify what they did?

If Jane Fonda had not made treason fashionable, this guy would be in a prison doing a puppet show for his islamic buddies.
