Your question exposed a remarkably large number of spoiled little kids who will take their ball and go home if they don't get to pitch.

Could you please find a new line? That one is all played out.

Now me, I won't take my ball and go home.

I will boycott the game.

I don't go play when I know the game was fixed and the rules changed.

No Hilly or O’Bammy for me - that’s a lock
so it’s probably McCain if he’s the nominee

a 3rd party Libertarian like Ron Paul or masquerading Dem like big bucks Bloomberg doesn’t seem acceptable to me either.

Well said and I agree it is a no brainer that those who can’t bring themselves to vote for an unappealing (I’m being kind) candidate are helping to elect a worse choice. This is not your kids’ soccer coach this is President of the United States.

I can’t stand McCain and have no faith in his ability since it is well established that he has betrayed our party many times. He went off onto the wrong road many years ago so I have not supported him in any way since that time. But I will vote for him only if he is the only choice to keep a democrat out of the white house. Duh. Come on people. You have to be smarter than that.

Having said that, not to worry. There is simply NO WAY he will be our nominee. He just had another moment in the liberal sun with the win in NH. To me that is simply reinforcement that he won’t be our nominee because that small faction of voters doesn’t represent our party - certainly not me. We won’t have to hold our noses and vote for him but at this point we still don’t know if the next hold-your-nose guy is in line.

We can do better playing opposition, and let some new fresh blood come up.

I am sure glad you guys are so "principled." Of course you will have to "play opposition" for generations with a dim installing 3 or 4 Supreme Court Justices.

I think your motto should be, "cut off your nose to spite your face."

Our Federal election system is structured so that it is effectively a 2 party system; a third party only fractures a major party—except where a party dies out and is replaced by the third party. Since I do not see the GOP dying out, voting for a third party is simply a failure to understand our political structure; like being dissatisfied with the two teams in the Superbowl, and insisting the Yankees play there instead.

Yeah, you are a big help to the cause.

It’s that attitude that brought us activist judges, abortion on demand, and a blame America first foreign policy...but...whatever.

I agree with you about the judges. That said, if I had the deciding vote somehow, what, precisely, are the differences between McCain and HRC? Aside from rhetoric, that is?

I can’t find many outside of the Supreme Court implications.

I hated saying it but it’s the way it looks to me. My only other option is to lie and say it looks great.

“I believe that 4 years of bad Democratic leadership could buck up this party to move right again.”

Unfortunately, I cannot agree. I think this party already understands that the candidates that they back only have to be slightly less liberal than the other party.

Several of the comments on this thread proves they are correct.

I left out The Huckster, I won’t vote for him either. For me it’s Thompson or Hunter. None other will do.

Judging from all the hold-the-nose responses, McCain must smell an awful lot! I suspect it smells a bit like fish...

I smell it too, but I’ll 1.)

Fred said early on that he has no interest in VP... and unlike ALL of the others outside of Hunter... Fred has not lied to us even once. Take him at his word or you will be disappointed.

I certainly not impressed with the field of Repubs. I was hopeful with Thompson but he is so low key he comes off as not caring. He hasn’t been on enough interviews like on Fox to get a grip on him. He seems so quiet during the debates. I like McCain on the terrorist issue but I worry about his instability and hate his immigration stand (was going to say “stance” but decided against it)!! I guess there just isn’t another Reagan out there.

4. I will try to find someone who’s values come close to mind and vote there or possibly write in my vote if there is nobody worthy on the ballot.

There is NO chance I will vote for McCain. Ever. And there is no chance I will donate money to a party that would nominate their own Judas to be their standard bearer. He has made his name by being CNN’s butt-boy, stabbing Republicans in the back and throwing up roadblocks to Republican initiatives.

If McCain is the Republican nominee, I no longer have a party.

Someone has to be principled around here, it clearly isn't the party. I'll vote straight R for all other offices.

As for the USSC, the upcoming retirees are all libs, who will be replaced by other libs if a dem wins. The court won't change and none of the dims running are more than a 1 termer.

What do you think Gang of 14 Maverick McMainiac will send to the Dem run judiciary committee?

We survived 8 years of the Clintons. We could survive 4 more, and have a better GOP out of it. Hopefully that means no more Bushes.

If they send up George P Bush next then we're done for generations!
