Key finds in Temple Mount trash heap

Jerusalem, Israel, Apr. 15 (UPI) -- Archaeologists sifting through piles of rubble discarded by Islamic officials from the Temple Mount have found rare artifacts dating to 3,000 years ago.

The artifacts were found in the last five months in a city garbage dump used by Islamic officials six years ago when they built a mosque at an underground area of the Temple Mount, the Jerusalem Post said Friday.

Hard to believe that the MSM hasn't been screaming for the heads of the Muslims who committed this, "unprecedented archaeological crime." Gosh, they sure had plenty to say when the Taliban destroyed those buddhas and when the Iraqi museums were, supposedly, vandalized.

I would agree that the Islamic sites on Temple Mount should not be disturbed, but I had no idea that there had been new construction in recent years. That doesn't seem right to me, and how come this has not been covered in the news?

My observation regarding Muslims is their rank disregard for any other civilizations or cultures as compared to their own. This is one of several recent examples. One that caused me tremendous horror was the deliberate destruction of ancient Roman villas, homes and cultural centers in modern day Turkey within the last couple of years. The mosaics and other art treasures were beyond comparison with what exists in museums exhibiting Roman antiquities. Given Turkey was a major outpost, trade route and summer destination for wealthy Roman citizens and military. The reason for the recent destruction was the government was building a new dam system and couldn't wait any longer for Western historians and archeologists to discover, catalogue and map the cities and towns that had been revealed. The archeologists were only able to remove less than 5% of the artifacts and treasures, the remainder which now lay under a hugh lake adjacent to a dam that will probably never be excavated for another 2,000 years. Proof positive as to who are the barbarians?

Thanks blam. The turbanites running/ruining the Temple Mount claim that there was no pre-Islamic construction on the site. Y'know, because, they're liars.

When (if!) they 'rebuild' that, could they also install plumbing? I have in mind some modifications a-la a certain famous statue in Northern Europe. Also add a Muhammed figure sitting at its feet...without an umbrella.

So I'm sophomoric; it's still fun to contemplate.

One of the cities flooded by this dam project was the ancient city of Zeugma. Some of the mosaics found there before the area was flooded were quite extraordinary.</P>

At that time the Isrealies were discovering all of the relics treasures.......but there was a outrage that those doing research were forced to seal up opening to the tunnel!

I noticed that for months or longer when I use Google or other "Search Engines" I don't get bio's seems edit and looks like a resumes.....I don't get things that used to be listed....only a revised version.....and this documents on tunnel under temple Mount that had to be closed because the Palestinians were upset now you read a revised version of it being Palestinians tunnel etc and now one learns how the Palestinians have gone in there to rid and destroy any knowledge that orginally existed.......they are so spiritually dumb and ignorant for the all Mighty will reveal the truth when the times comes an all of their devious act will be for nought!

That is why some of these so called reports you get on History makes me wonder how much of the real stuff is edited?

"For the freedom of Zion."

From: Yitzchak Reuven, THE TEMPLE INSTITUTE

1st & 2nd Temple Archeological Discoveries

Nisan 8, 5765 / April 17, 2005

One can block a river, and even divert a river, but eventually the force of the current will overcome any impediment set in its path, and the river will find its way right back to where it was intended from the first. And so it is with the truth of the Torah, which is likened to by our sages to water: In their zealousness to divert, pervert, and deny the truth, the Moslem Wakf, under whose authority the Temple Mount has been entrusted, five years ago began an ambitious program of construction and destruction. Hoping to both hide all traces of the Holy Temple, (first and second), which stood on Mount Moriah, and to create new Islamic "history" on the Mount, they began bulldozing ton after ton of earth from the southern end of the Temple Mount, and building in the excavated area a new mosque. The tons of "landfill" that they removed were then dumped in the Kidron Valley. The construction, destruction, and dumping were all flagrantly illegal. It was also an intentionally violent violation of the sanctity of the Temple Mount. Led by archeologist, Zachi Zweig, an anguished protest was raised.

Citing that irretrievable damage was made to the archeological remnants that had been scooped up and dumped, archeologists and other concerned Jews demanded that the Israeli government do something about it. Not wishing to enflame Moslem passions, the government demurred. But sometimes angels rush in where fools fear to tread. Zachi would not let it rest, and raised private funding to have the excavated earth loaded back onto dump trucks and relocated to a site where he and a small group of professionals and volunteers could painstakingly sift through the earth, searching for artifacts from the first and second Temples. Now they have publicized their finds, which include Babylonian arrowheads from the period of the first Temple, animal bones - remains from sacrifices, Hasmonean period coins and vessels, and coins from the revolt against the Romans, bearing the inscription: "For the freedom of Zion."

From a brazen attempt by the Moslem Wakf to destroy all evidence of the truth, the truth comes shining forth: For one thousand years, the first and second temples stood on Mount Moriah. For one thousand years, the divine service was performed day after day. For one thousand years, all Jews were united by the Holy Temple. For one thousand years Jews streamed to Jerusalem annually, for the three pilgrimage festivals of Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot, and for one thousand years Jews observed Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur on G-d's holy mount.

The truth cannot be destroyed, but it can be obscured. With each new bucket of dirt that Zachi's team fills for sifting, a new glimpse of the truth waits to be revealed. The history of G-d's people has, time after time, been propelled forward by individuals who have dared to make a difference. Let us all redouble our efforts, and pray that the day will come soon, when the future will catch up with the past, and the Holy Temple that stood then, will stand again. Until that day, we will live by the words struck into the ancient coin: "For the freedom of Zion"

Later this week we will be posting on our Study Tools section, a new feature describing the Passover festival, as it was observed during the time of the Holy Temple. All newsletter subscribers will receive a notification.
