Reports Point to Proof of Global Warming 2 hours, 38 minutes ago Politicians in the nation's capital have been reluctant to set limits on the carbon dioxide pollution that is expected to warm the planet by 4 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit during the next century, citing uncertainty about the severity of the threat. But that uncertainty may have shrunk somewhat with the release last week of two scientific reports suggesting that global warming is not just a hypothetical possibility, but a real phenomenon that has already started transforming especially sensitive parts of the globe

The humor is the fact that the two headlines were right next to each other. Atlantis....global warming...eeesh.

What the stories really point to...which environmentalists hate to hear...is that the earth is simply not constant. It changes on a continual basis. It doesn't matter what you do...it will continue to change. Its like a cycle...it has to heat up....and then cool down. And this all takes thousands, if not millions, of years.

On the Atlantis discovery...the story has alot to still prove. If they do point this out...the timeline involved will be interesting to see.

Not just the earth, but the sun as well. None of the climate models take into account solar variability.

Well said Peps.

There are also 11 year and 121 year cycles of solar activity that peturb our climate in the short term, giving environazis the chance to panic and yell "I told you so!" every decade.

Heck, our local loon in Yelm, Washington JZ Knight has been talking to (channeling is the proper term) Ramtha, a 35,000 year old Atlantian warrior for years. Even Linda Evans, Yanni, and other celebrities have partaken in the seance sessions. We should just have JZ ask Ramtha were his hometown is. That would settle it.

That doesn't fit the mold. Man must be responsible for all problems. (George Bush especially so.)

Isn't Yelm that 'stuff' after the Big Bang until it condensed into quarks, then neutrons, atoms, and so forth.

Or is it Ylem? Gotta go Google it....
