The French have delivered one of three nuke subs to Pakistan. One is operational. #2 just passed the deep water dive test. All the Paki nuke weapons are missile warheads.

So what missile would be mounted in the subs that can deliver the warheads and would it be accurate, dependable? Do you have any guesses? Something from Korea?

The sole Xia class, the type 093 and 094 under construction that we were aware of are bigger threats than this new boat.

It is embarrassing that intel didn't know about this boat but of little significance

"We shall see where this free trade cult leads us."

Yea well I will be kicking and screaming the entire time. There is no such thing as global free trade without a global government. Free traders are really globalists, I am a American.

"What about the ASROC?"

ASROC can kill the enemy sub after it is detected, but it can't stop the torpedos that said enemy sub may have already launched.

What I'm referring to are point defenses...sub-surface systems that can destroy enemy torpedos.

Here's a scary thought...

What would happen if all of our "enemies" coordinated enough to all attack the US or US interests all at once.

And I am talking about ALL of our enemies.

Say the Chinese move on Taiwan, North Korea invades South Korea, Iran invades Iraq, Nukes fly towards Israel, and terrorists pull a coordinated attack on the homeland, ALL ON THE SAME DAY!?

What could we do?

Anything?

Ahhh! Thanks for clarifying.

And you do have a good point there.

WTF are you rambling about...

Not one thing in your reply addressed anything in my post.

Try educating yourself by learning to read before you go ranting unintelligibly...unless of course it was a poor attempt at sarcasm..

All I'm going to say is, that possibility has been considered.

BTW, I'm in a simulator until 2130 tonight. Back after that.

The French subs use a methanol/liquid oxygen propulsion system. They are nearly undetectable. The choice of missiles won't have to be terribly long range to get the job done. Claimed cruising range is 12,000 nautical miles. The French will probably provide the missile platform to go with the sub. I would guess the Pakis will design their warheads to match the missiles.

I don't think France has the stones to sell missiles to Pakistan that will be fitted for nuclear warheads.

"All the Paki nuke weapons are missile warheads."

Excuse me?! Just because it's a nuke doesn't mean that it can be launched via a missile.

Actually the only missile that France usually sells with its conventional subs (&also to the Pakis) is the exocet anti-ship missile-which is much in the same class as the harpoon ,though significantly less range(about 50kms).

The Exocet has not been designed to be fitted with a nuke warhead&even if the Pakis try to do something-the warhead size of the Exocet(bout 150kilos) makes fitting a nuclear warhead rather impossible technically. The French sea launched land-attack cruise missile (Scalp Navale) which is pretty much in the same class as the American JASSM ,won't come out till 2008&cannot be exported without EU consent.Other than that the only other sea launched missile they have now are their SLBMs!!!

Moreover now France seems to be wanting to do away with its arms relations with Pakistan-It is close to signing contracts to sell India 120 Mirage 2005 fighter bombers,6 Scorpene subs(next gen variant of the one ,the PN operates)&loads of other smaller contracts.Doesnt make sense to continue sticking to a semi-failed Islamic state.
