Maybe, but still better than Phil Collins' later solo career.
The waters divide into a god and a goddess, who have children who are also gods. War breaks out between mother and father, and between mother and children. Mother and Father Gods create the Federal Government which then creates human beings to be its servants.
“Too many Christians, even those who may not go as far as to call the Genesis account false, seem embarrassed by it. “
Genesis it true, but told with a set of metaphors that would be understandable to readers thousands of years ago.
Science has revealed the details behind each of those metaphors, but unlike the creation myths of every other ancient faith the basic structure of Genesis has been entirely confirmed by modern science.
God’s people were supposed to continually write down exactly what God told them about creation and morality and blood atonement and many other things. They were supposed to study well and teach these things to their children. Some did. They are called the remnant. The vast majority turned their backs on this and worshipped the creation instead of the creator. They changed the creation story and followed in Daddy Adam’s footsteps, rejecting sound doctrine in order to exalt the sinful creature, to worship self. God will judge, and He will not be mocked.
Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy and/or confusing Cause and Effect.
The logic of this article is profoundly flawed.
Since we, in the Western Hemisphere, have a Weltbild shaped by Christianity, of course we are going to find the Christian version of the Creation Myth more to our liking.
The people of some other culture will, by the same token, say with satisfaction how their Creation Myth is unique in having the world formed by spilled seed of two celestial beings having sex, etc. - which they will claim better reflects the world as we see it today.
Regards,
Meh. I don’t care anymore.
Every culture has an origin myth. Many have flood stories. Nothing wrong with understanding man’s need to “know” where they came from.
Is Genesis the “true” story? Don’t know. Don’t really care.

LOL! Good one!
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1 ESV
Either you believe it or you don’t.
For anyone that doesn’t........what if your wrong?
There are two creation narratives in Genesis.
You know I want to look at that, but I’m in too deep.
There’s an angel standing in the sun
And he’s crying with a loud voice
“This is the supper of the mighty one”
Lord of Lords, King of Kings
Has returned to lead his children home
To take them to the new Jerusalem
Never a fan of that tactic. It works for the climate alarmists, though.
Is Genesis the “true” story? Don’t know. Don’t really care.
I've read where the Great Flood account in the Bible roughly correlates with a theory that a land bridge across the Straits of Gibraltar collapsing and flooded the Mediterranean Sea, wiping out numerous settlements and accounting for the relics found under the Med.
And the Genesis story in the Bible roughly tracks with the "Big Bang Theory" of physics of a universe created out of nothing.
If you accept those two concepts, then all we're left with is quibbling about the embellished details of the stories.
Sorta like the questions - David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar, Bon Scott or Brian Johnson. Both good in their own rights, but different.
And Gabriel went pop as well.
His first solo album, with Solsbury Hill, is great. The “melt” album (Games Without Frontiers) is great as well.
