Beck's Bogus Beliefs

March 2011

by T. A. McMahon

"Glenn Beck, the television and radio talk show host who is best known for his conservative political views, isn't someone whom we would normally address in our newsletter. Our concerns are usually directed at individuals, programs, or organizations that promote spiritual or theological views contrary to the Word of God. Beck, of late, seems to be making himself at home in that realm, and he's attracting many who call themselves Bible-believing Christians. ...

First of all, Glenn Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He may refer to himself as a Christian, but he's certainly not a biblical Christian. The distinction is as wide as hell is from heaven: "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God" (2 John:9). Mormon doctrine is "another gospel" that exalts "another Jesus." Both false beliefs came out of the deceived and deceiving mind of Joseph Smith. Secondly, "our country" doesn't have "Christian roots," even though some are claiming that our founding fathers were true Christians. Many were not biblical Christians but Christians in name only, who followed the faith of Deism, Masonry, and the philosophy of the Enlightenment. Any early influence in America's history of a biblical nature very likely came from the Pilgrims and the Puritans...."

Sounds like one of those excuses I was writing about...just a dumb reason to judge a very good man who is helping so many people to actually get on the path to real salvation. Not the phoney bahloney one where you can keep on sinning and deny the real strength of the holy spirit. No, I mean the real salvation where all of the darkness leaves you eventually and there is no more desire to be angry and prideful. Not hard at all in God’s book!

Thank you for posting this. According to God’s Word, Glen Beck is certainly not a christian and follows a false gospel that is cultish and pagan.
The reason it is addressed here is because Beck is trying to evangelize people to this false doctrine. If Beck stuck to politics , I would obviously pray for his soul but when he interjects a false religion as frequently as he does, it becomes an issue. Just as conservatives question obama’s christian faith, it is fair for christians to be aware of Beck’s.

“he ALWAYS recommends doing your own research “

You should try Forrest McDonald’s books on the founding era. Novus Ordo Seclorum. E Pluribus Unum. Requiem.

McDonald is not only one of the finest of conservative historians, he also writes very well. Your knowledge of the founding era will be a good deal more robust than what you get from Beck.

Repost with updated links..

Mormonism is not Christianity (read below)

Christian churches teach belief in God as an eternal, self-existent, immortal being, unfettered by corporeal limitations and unchanging in both character and nature. In recent years, several Christian denominations have made studies of Mormon teaching and come to the conclusion that there are irreconcilable differences between LDS doctrine and Christian beliefs based on the Bible.

So funny. When the Missionaries where at my friends house I asked them for the due guards and signs, jokingly, and they just kind of sat there.

I told them I was kidding but the knew what I meant.

I don’t see why anyone needs Roy Masters to find the path to “real salvation”, when Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. Everything that I need to get there I can find in one book, and if Mr. Masters thinks he can add something to that, I probably don’t want to know it.

It looks interesting....Just started reading the The Question of God.....can’t put that one down, yet.

Forrest McDonald’s book looks much more interesting than “Two Treatises of Government”. Thanks for the suggestion.

“Judge not lest ye be judged.” is the most misquoted/misunderstood and taken out of context phrase, in the Bible and the one most used by the unsaved/unchurched, to try to tell us not to use our God given gift of discernment.

Your explanation was excellent.

Luke 9:50, after John observed someone casting out demons in Jesus' name, but who "does not follow us":

But Jesus said to him, 'Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side."

And again, Mark 9:40: "For he who is not against us is on our side."

The Bible says, "in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established." I gave you two.

AoF: 11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

NO you (lds) don't otherwise you (lds) would not be sending out 52K bicycle riders to harass people at dinner time or calling Christians "whores of Babylon".

AoF: 2 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

No, you (lds) don't otherwise you (lds) would not be courting illegals.
