NAACP Outraged At Store Owner's Sign

Employees Say Owner Takes Aim At Various Groups

A store sign is attracting attention from people who say they find it offensive, Local 4 reported. The sign is located outside the Gun Barn on M-59 in Highland Township.

The northern Oakland County NAACP is asking the store's owner to remove a message that they believe is racist.

Customers and employees told Local 4 the owner periodically rotates the messages -- taking aim at various ethnic groups, feminists and people who are overweight.

There was an NAACP supported movement a few years back to have ebonics supported as a legitimate dialect that could be taught in school.

Maybe this shop owner is just trying to show support for that movement.
