True that. I understand in the 1940's, Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, designed some really great bomb-sights that you could also use for dropping communists. With that said, it’s often impossible to identify satire or sarcasm any more, at least since the Babylon Bee. (Tom Lehrer said decades ago that satire died when Henry Kissinger got the Nobel Peace Prize. Lehrer is a liberal, but he was right on this.)
You may not have meant it to be taken seriously, but there are parts of what used to be conservativism that are trending towards authoritarianism, and it doesn’t take much for things like that to catch on.
Look how the left has been taken over by wokism. I don’t want to see something comparable happen on the right.
I see what you’re saying but I think it would be a massive mistake to allow our enemies’ reactions to determine our terms of discourse. There has been far too much of that.
