This whole charade Hap is over and over again. They furlough the government workers and say they’re not going to pay their bills then they bring them back with full backpay. Why do they go through this whole charade. They’re always going to pay the government employees/voters

Everyone seems to miss the point that the house is arty passed legislation to raise the debt ceiling, it’s up to the Senate to pass, or reject it, and for the president to sign it or not. If they rejected, then the house just needs to pass it again and send it back up. They have the power of the purse if they’re willing to have a little spine.

Am I missing something. It used to be govern shut down. OMG the government was shutting down. BHO would wheel out the barriers in DC and nothing happened

Is default meant to just sound scary or is it something different now. We seem to be blasting last shut down to brankrupt, which is on reality the most likely case anyway.

The only certainty, is any default or government shutdown, will be blamed on Republicans.

Yes, the House has passed a bill, and apparently the Senate and Chuck Schumer don’t even want to consider it. But the facts don’t matter, in the Democrat and media commentary on what’s going on.

Does this mean the government must prioritize expenditures based on revenue received from we the people? What a concept!

That would be correct and the first revenues go to pay interest on debt!

I find the 3rd Section of the 14th Aamendment as something that should always be done.

It is not “the fire ax in the box on the wall”!!!

These fools think to fool you that it is.

Oh, sections 1 and 2 deal with the citizenships of the electorate and Presidency.

Wait for Yellen to tell us about the effect of not raising the debt “ceiling” on climate change.

So they must want the default or else Yellen would push The 14th regardless of legality.

Depending on how you read it section 4 could be construed to prohibit any reparations for slavery.
