“BRING BACK COLUMBUS DAY!” Trump stated on Truth Social.
Columbus Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States, along with other continental nations, to commemorate the day Italian explorer Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas on October 12, 1492. The voyage would be followed by three others in 1493, 1498, and 1502.
Columbus’s first voyage was financed by Ferdinand II and Isabella I, the Catholic Monarchs of Spain. The investment was significant at the time due to Spain’s expensive war against the invading Moors (Muslims).
Columbus’s original intent was to find a water route from Europe to Asia to increase trade. Instead, Columbus discovered the “new world,” producing a great expansion of human achievement, standards of living, wealth, and poverty alleviation in less than 500 years.
Some far-left radicals have since tried to cancel Columbus Day in the United States by replacing it with “Indigenous Peoples Day.” “Indigenous Peoples Day” was proclaimed a holiday by the Biden administration in 2021.
“Since time immemorial, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians have built vibrant and diverse cultures — safeguarding land, language, spirit, knowledge, and tradition across the generations,” the White House’s proclamation stated.
“On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, our Nation celebrates the invaluable contributions and resilience of Indigenous peoples, recognizes their inherent sovereignty, and commits to honoring the Federal Government’s trust and treaty obligations to Tribal Nations,” the proclamation continued.

Yes—reaffirm COLUMBUS Day!!!!
Mexicans celebrate Columbus Day as Dia de la Raza—Day of the Mestizo People. No Columbus—no mestizos! And no USA, either! It’s that simple!!!!
Yes they refer to us as colonizers. How for instance would a friend of mine who came here as a child from Germany in the 50s be held accountable for what happened to the natives in 1850s? Europe is one big example of first nations being pushed out. By the Franks, Visagoths, Huns, Magyars, ect. Fact of life that I think certain peoples need to get over.
just because pedojoe proclaims indian peoples day does not mean it is or ever will be
Columbus also made big goof-ups, such as identifying the wrong star as Polaris for, oh, a thousand nautical miles or so underway.
But he had amazing intuition.
