Billionaire real estate tycoon Stephen Ross suggested Friday that a looming US economic recession could put an end to the work-from-home craze that swept the country during the pandemic.
Ross, whose firm Related Cos. owns office space in New York and across the US, suggested the possibility of layoffs could lead employees to drop their resistance.

Nope, Urban Utopias are OVER.
Over?
They spend half their time watching their kids. They want to stay home to avoid daycare costs, but in the process their work contribution is crap. Fire them all.
The 17th century had people overinvesting into Dutch tulips. The 20th century had people “overinvesting” in Beanie Babies. The 21st century has people overinvesting in crypto currencies and urban office space. LOL
“...urban office space...”
Loosers...
Office vs home will be less a concern going forward compared to simply having a job in the first place. Inflation curtails demand and businesses will cut employees.
They’ll come back to work when the commie welfare payments for those able to work are cut off. (free money free food free transit free medical care free clothing free telephones free utilities free this free that free hit meals free everything—- no taxes —- why in hell work???
I spent two years working at home for my former company to avoid wearing a mask, and my productivity was higher than the previous years and my unit tripled its revenue during that time.
I left for a better opportunity. My new job is work from home as well as the office is 2,500 miles from where I live.
Hey Ross, I got an idea. Worry more about the Dolphins and less about real estate and JLo.

So office space guy is predicting a renewed demand for office space. Maybe office space guy is right. But maybe instead he’s running a classic pump-and-dump.
Not me it won’t ;-)
Been there, done that.
No employer or government leader who shut down workplaces and sent people to work from home for two years — or even two weeks — should be taken seriously anymore when they tell you to go back to the office.
$7 dollars per gallon for gas, bumper to bumper traffic, and gossiping co-workers who always want to chit chat in the halls and break room are a powerful incentive to work from home.
I doubt it. They won’t be able to afford the gas and electricity is going start getting harder to find.
Not with $6 gas they won’t.
As a full time remote worker, I take offense to your categorical dismissal of my work efforts. I work 50+ hours a week and often on weekends because I have the ability to work from home.
Are there grifters? Absolutely. But to dismiss an entire class of workers simply because they work remotely is dangerous and shortsighted.
He has to think that, he owns office space in NYC that only forty percent have returned to. 60 percent empty. That’s devastating for a lot of people.
I read an article yesterday that a full twenty-five percent of federal employees failed to log-in to their work email or office applications during the first few months of the “pandemic”. My solution would be to fire them all since obviously they are not essential employees.
Of course, I can’t find the article now because it certainly will not show up on a google search. Does anyone remember google before it went “woke” and decided which articles were relevant to your search? It was actually a useful tool back then. Even the other search options have joined in and now decide which narrative you should be exposed to when searching for information.
Ah! Here it is. I went back through my “history” and found the article.

Exactly - I worked from home almost my entire career with no complaints from my employer. And as if there haven’t always been unproductive slugs who are in the office every day.
