Anyway, you don’t need to buy the pills, it is already included in the Moderna third booster so once you have that you will be okay.

I suspect if we need to take potassium iodide, we will have bigger problems to worry about anyway.

I know, I know. I live in a rural area far away from any obvious targets. A nationwide, totally saturating EMP attack would be more devastating than the actual bomb blasts. One year after such a very limited nuclear EMP attack we would have seen the starvation of 75% of our population. But I have grandchildren, you desperately reach for any straw in such a situation.

LOL.

I wouldn’t doubt it, along with some other stuff not on the label.

“Every possible situation is not the end of the world.”

One of the great fears for years is that some nut, to include maybe one of our presidents, would get to the button. In this case, it would be from Russia as Putin is rapidly getting himself into a situation where he will have no choice but to strike back. And the Russian mindset from a couple of hundred years lacking diplomacy is part of the equation.

It won’t be a dirty bomb, it would be from hundreds of ICBM’s we don’t have the capacity to stop. Plus, we don’t know the number and where they will be coming from due to possible sub launch which could give us minutes to react to.

The US has grown complacent, thus vulnerable. They are of the opinion that just saying “U.S.” is enough to strike fear into those that wish us harm. But the appearance of weakness over the last 70 years has caused a failed bravado and changed the attitudes of what we represent. And Biden’s total failure in his diplomatic duties has kicked open the door to our being attacked from many angles. He hasn’t done a thing to assist the country that didn’t fail. And places like Russia and China are always on the lookout for weakness. Not to mention hundreds of terrorist groups the US is supporting.

Putin’s efforts to regain lost soil to rebuild the Russian empire forcefully is consistent with the way they have done things since before Christ. But this time the country has the power not to back up their efforts, but to destroy everything.

In a study done by the Los Alamos scientists that developed the original bombs, they concluded it would only take between 10 and 100 “Super” bombs to end the world.

The bombs dropped on Japan were about 64 kilograms which had a 16 kiloton yield (i.e. equivalent to 16,000 tons of TNT). The ones we have now, what they referred earlier to by calling them super bombs are between 20 to 30 times more powerful and the US as of 2020 had an admitted stockpile of 3,750 active and inactive nuclear warheads plus approximately 2,000 warheads retired and awaiting dismantlement...still hot with a little help.

In an article in Business insider last month, Tara Drozdenko, the director of the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Global Security Program said, “If the US and Russia launched everything that they had, it could potentially be a civilization-ending event.”

And it stands to reason that everything above ground, and a ways under it, will be in the loop for destruction. Even if the scientists are wrong, and the above ground world is not lit up to ecological change due to dust and radiation, the blasts are sure to destroy food and water possibilities. And with our tight schedule to get those to people, the disruption will cause a chain reaction of supply line problems that could not be fixed in near enough time. Millions will die if not everyone.

Science is not a pure consensus. As we are on the edge of discovery with everything the biggest name in invention is still “accident.”

Displaying opinions of what might not happen with what did in different scenarios is Friday morning quarterbacking. Everything we are discussing about this is all speculation as to the amount of damage. Statements within your entry made by others like:

“...because the scientific processes involved were poorly understood, the report stated it was not possible to estimate the probable magnitude of such damage.”

“...there would be so much smoke that a large cloud over the northern hemisphere would reduce incoming sunlight below the level required for photosynthesis, and that this would last for weeks or even longer.”

“No one knows the effect of local weather conditions on the amount of particles that will be injected into the troposphere. No one knows how long the particles will remain in the troposphere. And so on.”

“This is not the way science is done, it is the way products are sold.”

The act of discovery is a hit and miss prospect so it is exactly the way it is done. And if successful, never ends. Can man create a weapon that can destroy the world by destroying the process at which we survive. That is within reason and at this time is quite possible. We may have, and I believe we have, already created it a few ways. The nuclear way is just one. And I never write off science in its trial and error efforts. Half right is still half right. It depends on which side of the fence you’re on and how many are with you with the same type cattle in their fences. But if the fences falls down because the builder underestimated the construction needs and something as simple as the wind velocity, what difference does it make? Your cattle are gone to the hills and you will lose some if not all.

The US is supplying combat aircraft to the Ukraine? Okay, here’s how it works:

And remember, they’re going to use our aircraft.

They must hold a four-year civilian or military bachelor’s degree.

For our Air Force, officer school covers 12 weeks and takes place at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. Naval pilots must take part in Officer Candidate School located in Rhode Island. Marine pilots attend Officer Candidates School in Virginia.

Pass qualifying officer tests. The Air Force requires all candidates to pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test. Navy and Marine pilots must take and pass the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Aviation Selection Test Battery.

Pass the physical qualifications. Fighter pilots must have 20/20 vision, perfect hearing and be able to withstand the physical nature of flying jets. Fighter pilots undergo the pressure of several G’s during flight and must be able to avoid passing out or vomiting while in flight.

Now that they are past the education to be able to decipher an aircraft, they finally get to fly one, maybe.

Naval pilots take part in a six-week air indoctrination course at Naval Aviation Schools Command in Florida, followed by primary flight training. Marine fighter pilots must undergo the longest training of all the Marine Corps training programs, including six weeks of Aviation Preflight Indoctrination in Florida, 22 weeks of Primary Flight Training in Florida, Texas or Oklahoma, and 14 to 49 weeks of Advanced Flight Training in Florida, Mississippi or Texas. Air Force pilots take part in pre-flight and academic training, followed by 22 weeks of primary training.

Pilots may finally choose the aircraft they want to fly, or the branch they fly for may assign them an aircraft. In the Marines, aircraft-specific training begins after completing Advanced Flight Training. Naval aviators choose an aircraft pipeline after finishing primary flight training. The pipeline involves intermediate training, which includes more flight and navigation training and advanced training, which focuses on mission specifics. Air Force pilots choose an aircraft pipeline following primary training and then move into Advanced Aircraft Training.

I haven’t even reached the training needs coverage for our pilots to be competent in an aircraft. And I can promise you the war would be over before the first Ukrainian pilot straps him or herself in with enough knowledge and practice not to stick the thing into the ground or get taken out while unable to use the images in front of them.

US military fighters alone are only being challenged by Russian Sukhois and the Mig 29’s. The basic difference as to why we are so good at beating them is our pilots and their training. I guess Biden thinks this training and education is just going to go into the Ukrainians through osmosis.

Ukraine has MIG-29s already. Presumably they have pilots trained on them.

Poland has F-16s already. Presumably they have pilots trained on them.

“Ukraine has MIG-29s already. Presumably they have pilots trained on them.”

According to the info I could find, they have less than a hundred fighter aircraft, total. And the Migs, while at low speeds are more agile than even our F16’s. But they have a number of downturns.

While aerodynamically outstanding, the MiG-29 did not feature modern pilot displays, controls and fly-by-wire avionics. Fulcrum pilots were required to stare down at their cockpit instruments far more than those of Western fighters with modern Head’s Up Displays, and the throttle was not integrated into the stick.

The MiG-29’s sensors were mediocre—its N019 Phazotron pulse-doppler radar had a shorter accurate range (thirty-eight miles) than the missiles the MiG-29 carried. Though equipped with an infrared sensor (IRST), pilots reported it to be of limited effectiveness.

These limitations in part reflected Soviet doctrine in which pilots were intended to be closely directed by ground controllers, so their situation awareness was less of a priority. The lack of modern electronics was what ultimately led the German Air Force to retire its Fulcrums, despite being more agile than their F-4s and Tornados.

Another major limitation is the MiG-29’s limited range of less than nine hundred miles on internal fuel and lack of inflight refueling ability—making it primarily useful as a defensive fighter, or one operating above frontline forces. While the Fulcrum may be a bargain for a less wealthy country worried about conflict on its borders, it has less appeal to air forces looking to project power over distance.

Finally, while the MiG was designed to withstand rugged handling, it wasn’t intended to have a long service life—just two thousand five hundred hours compared to the six thousand that is typical of U.S. fighters. MiG-29 airframes deteriorated rapidly later in life, and have required extensive and expensive maintenance to keep flying. And getting parts and replacement aircraft from the people that are attacking you is out of the question.

“Poland has F-16s already.”

Unless Poland hits the air with the Ukrainians, those aircraft are worthless. They cost too much to loan and they are also concerned if they are next so they are keeping it at home. And the existing pilots for the Ukraine are not trained in the use of the many warm fuzzies of the MacDonald/Douglas, Lockheed, or General Dynamics aircraft that make them competitive with the Migs. That takes time, which they don’t have.

I bought some 2oz KI crystals too about 6 years ago/ They are ever slightly clumped up due to absorbing moisture. But are 100% useable.

From peace almost world-wide, to people discussing the best place to purchase iodine pills. All in 15 months. What will the next almost three years bring us? Will we need that iodine? Biden’s domestic policies alone, with open borders and his war his oil, should be sufficient to remove him from office. His foreign policies, which amount to appeasing the enemy, should definitely be enough to remove him from office for betraying our nation.

Impeachment proceedings should begin immediately after the GOP takes the House and Senate in the fall. Do they have the ball to do so? Or will they go with the “reach across the aisle, and let bygones be bygones” narrative that they have done so many times before.
