Clinesmith Charging Documents: FBI Withheld Page’s CIA Work From FISA Court, Then Lied About It
The Federalist ^ | 8/14/2020 | Mollie Hemingway

Clinesmith falsified documents and helped the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane Team omit exonerating evidence about Carter Page on four separate FISA applications.

The FBI was told Carter Page was a U.S. intelligence agency source months before the agency began keeping that information from the secret court that authorized spying on him and nearly a full year before the agency altered documents to claim otherwise.

Federal charging documents against Kevin Clinesmith, the top FBI attorney who was expected to plead guilty today to altering documents, show that the FBI withheld in three separate spying applications the fact that Page had served as an “operational contact” who helped an agency believed to be the CIA investigate suspected Russian intelligence figures for five years. For the fourth application, the agency didn’t just hide that fact, but deliberately falsified evidence to claim he was not a source.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz already revealed that Clinesmith had deliberately falsified evidence in his sprawling 434-page report on FBI malfeasance in the anti-Trump spy campaign. The 5-page charging document signed by U.S. Attorney John Durham summarizes the incriminating facts of the case and demonstrates the broader corruption of the process used to illegally spy on Page, a Trump campaign affiliate.

The New York Times, one of the corporate media outlets that helped the FBI weaponize its conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump had conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election, claimed that the deal to plead guilty showed no “evidence of a broad anti-Trump conspiracy among law enforcement officials.”

In fact, contrary to the unsubstantiated assertion from the Times, the charging documents highlight that all four of the applications to spy on Carter Page painted a false picture of the Trump affiliate. While the fourth application included outright falsified evidence regarding Page helping

There’s NO WAY a middle-level shitstain career apparatchik takes it upon himself to fake a document to a Federal FISA court in a “national security” investigation being run by the highest levels of the FBI. Such people don’t move unless there is clear instructions and organizational buy-in from everyone around him.

Clinesmith was on the team that conducted the Clinton e-mail investigation, then the Carter Page FISA warrant, then placed on Mueller's Special Council team. He was hand picked for all of these jobs. He was no "middle-level shitstain career apparatchik", he was a core member of Comey's "dirty jobs" team. He was a guy Comey could count on to do whatever it took to help Hillary and destroy Trump.

Now the question is will Clinesmith flip? Was he smart enough to preserve evidence, or is he a true believer who is willing to take the fall for Comey? Yes, he almost certainly falsified the e-mail on orders from Comey and/or McCabe. Does he have evidence of that? Will he testify to that? What else did he do as a part of the Hillary, Page and Russia Russia Russia investigations? No way was this just a one time thing. People on those teams have to be worried.

Clinesmith didn't alter the e-mail because he wanted to falsify evidence as part of the fourth FISA warrant application.

He altered it because telling the truth on the fourth application would have revealed that the first three were also false.

In other words, he falsified the evidence in 2017 to hide the FBI's malfeasance in 2016.

That, my friends, is a conspiracy.

This was an important revelation legally.

1) The FISA warrants were all invalid. Period. We knew this, but now it is in black and white in a legal document.

2) It implicates others within the FBI and the special counsel who committed a fraud upon the court.

Clinesmith was NOT a “low-level FBI employee” as he has been described in the media. He was the counsel to the main investigators and he helped assemble the FISA and reviewed them. He was inside the core group of conspirators.

Mollie Hemingway is an outstanding reporter.

Mollie is my favorite. Hands down. She takes no crap and calls balls and strikes and she never comes across to me as partisan - ie “what a journalist is supposed to be.”

At the time that Clinesmith altered the e-mail, he was assigned to the Special Counsel and, I believe, he worked for Weismann.

I don't know if you like of dislike Sundance at Conservative Treehouse, but he has an interesting article about the Special Counsel distancing themselves from Clinesmith. Here's a link:

Conservative Treehouse...

Weismann must be feeling some heat.

Thanks for the link

Treehouse ain’t my cup of tea, having gotten some things very wrong about Trayvon and the Gentle Giant, but they’ve gotten a lot of things right too

no “evidence of a broad anti-Trump conspiracy among law enforcement officials.”

FOX News radio made sure to work that line into their reporting Friday about the Plea Deal

Along with the obligatory "without evidence" in their reporting on Trump claims of mail-in fraud

Wring every iota of incriminating evidence he has out of him and then put him in medium security general population, IMHO.
