Clinesmith Charging Documents: FBI Withheld Page’s CIA Work From FISA Court, Then Lied About It
The Federalist ^ | 8/14/2020 | Mollie Hemingway

Clinesmith falsified documents and helped the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane Team omit exonerating evidence about Carter Page on four separate FISA applications.

The FBI was told Carter Page was a U.S. intelligence agency source months before the agency began keeping that information from the secret court that authorized spying on him and nearly a full year before the agency altered documents to claim otherwise.

Federal charging documents against Kevin Clinesmith, the top FBI attorney who was expected to plead guilty today to altering documents, show that the FBI withheld in three separate spying applications the fact that Page had served as an “operational contact” who helped an agency believed to be the CIA investigate suspected Russian intelligence figures for five years. For the fourth application, the agency didn’t just hide that fact, but deliberately falsified evidence to claim he was not a source.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz already revealed that Clinesmith had deliberately falsified evidence in his sprawling 434-page report on FBI malfeasance in the anti-Trump spy campaign. The 5-page charging document signed by U.S. Attorney John Durham summarizes the incriminating facts of the case and demonstrates the broader corruption of the process used to illegally spy on Page, a Trump campaign affiliate.

The New York Times, one of the corporate media outlets that helped the FBI weaponize its conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump had conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election, claimed that the deal to plead guilty showed no “evidence of a broad anti-Trump conspiracy among law enforcement officials.”

In fact, contrary to the unsubstantiated assertion from the Times, the charging documents highlight that all four of the applications to spy on Carter Page painted a false picture of the Trump affiliate. While the fourth application included outright falsified evidence regarding Page helping

The FBI is an agency. The liars are people, as bitt knows.

Who exactly are these liars?

Comey knew he was with the CIA but proceeded anyway to get the FISA. He needs to be indicted asap.

I’ve seen government bureaucrats in action and up-close.

There’s NO WAY a middle-level shitstain career apparatchik takes it upon himself to fake a document to a Federal FISA court in a “national security” investigation being run by the highest levels of the FBI. Such people don’t move unless there is clear instructions and organizational buy-in from everyone around him.

I watched another group of crooked liars from the FBI when I saw the movie Richard Jewell the other evening by Clint Eastwood. The FBI agent had to know the man was not only innocent but by his actions, probably 50-100 people in Centennail Park survived. But between the FBI “investigative” team and some lying “journalists”, they ruined this man’s life and made his mother’s life hell. The FBI needs to be broken into a series of small, specialized investigative bureaus; too much power for too many crooks.

Why?

Why would a lawyer working for the FBI falsify a document?

Is it because he’s a Democrat and he just can’t stand seeing the cross town rivals the Republicans get ahead?

He’s going to risk termination and jail time because of a cross town rivalry?

As part of Kevin Clinesmith’s plea deal should be the Witness Protection Program starting NOW!

Durhan & Barr have 36.5 working days until the election. If Biden wins, all this disappears.

An excellent article, thanks for posting.

Mollie Hemingway is an outstanding reporter.

My takeaway is that Clinesmith is an important first "domino". Strange that Comey hasn't tweeted anything about the plea deal(that I am aware of).

I have also read that Clinesmith is cooperating with the investigation.

The film “Richard Jewell” is excellent. Some predicted that it would be a finalist for an Oscar.

“”The film “Richard Jewell” is excellent. Some predicted that it would be a finalist for an Oscar.”””

Since it puts the FBI in a bad light and exposes their corruption I don’t think the deep state will allow it to get any awards.

The FBI was corrupt and their top agents dirty. FBI ‘culture’ became anti-American. They should be disbanded.

Clinesmith should have been charged with far greater crimes. His clearly stated position that he would be part of the “resistance” inside the Trump Administration is evidence of sedition. This cupcake charge by Durham better be part of a plea deal where Clinesmith has fingered the higher ups, or it will be a wasted opportunity.
