Ya think 8 bucks for a tiny hamburger is a good deal at a slop joint?

Years ago, I tried a Subway for the first (and last) time.

I get a great loaded sub at my local supermarket deli. Delicious...and loaded with yummy things.

I don’t actually order that but just checked the prices on their app. I do regularly go there for breakfast (eating in my car lol), and the breakfast sandwich, two hash browns and drink come to $6.60 including sales tax. Sure, I wish it were less, but it’s the best deal I can find now. Don’t cook at all.

I swear, years ago I threw down a half eaten cookie burger from some McWhopper and my German Shepherd walked over, sniffed it and walked away.

That crap is not only a rip off, it’s garbage.

Our franchise is very good here and I knew the founder and know the store managers now. Employees are responsible and reliable and the stores get great reviews.

Most slop joint franchises are now owned by Muslims, Indians, Chinese etc. With them, it’s all about the $$.

“Oh no! Where will I go to get mediocre subs made with old ingredients with flies buzzing around them?!”

Your bombastic cynicism toward their crappy sandwiches is noted and appreciated.

Outside of Austin, and other than hospitals and courthouses that are required to prohibit handguns, I think I can count on one hand the number of 30.06 signs I’ve seen. Basically a couple office buildings in downtown Houston, a museum or two, and I think the ballet downtown. But the museum’s sign is actually non-compliant, and you can avoid the signs at the buildings downtown by entering through the tunnels.

Subway is horrible! The last time I went there was six years ago. I was driving from Los Alamos to Albuquerque late at night, and it was the only thing open. Closest one to me is next door to Publix. Anyone who knows Publix, knows their subs are outstanding, so needless to say, foot traffic is pretty light there.

Steve, it all depends on the particular Subway joint. Some are better than others. The one walking distance from my house is very good. They are very generous with portions.

I've been making the various condiments that I like at home these days.

I can see what's in them, and amp up stuff I like.

There's a recipe or ten for every favorite online these days:

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
1 tablespoon white onion ; minced
1 tablespoon Red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon buttermilk powder
1/4 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1/8 teaspoon poppy seeds
1/8 teaspoon salt
pinch cracked pepper
pinch garlic powder

It’s a franchised chain. They can recommend but not force.

The last time I went to Subway, 2 years ago, I got the Philly Steak and it was a joke. Maybe 2ozs of greasy mystery meat product. Never been back.

Too bad because the old $5 foot long sub was good for two meals.

Once they started loading up their sandwiches with carbs, I was through.

Racists.

Now that blacks are open carrying en masse, Subway announces this policy.

Why white liberals love gun control. They are afraid of blacks with guns. Why are they afraid of blacks with guns??????

Because criminals are not stupid and are not going to attack someone openly carrying a gun, because they likely know how to use it.

Over the years I have seen many stories, too many to count, of people getting attacked while concealed carrying.

The stories of people getting attacked which OCing I could count on one hand.

Full disclosure: If you are ever in Easter PA and see a guy open carrying a Kimber Ultra or a Glock 19, it may be me.

Virtue signaling, bandwagon, lemming, sheeple. Better sandwiches at Jimmy Johns anyway.

Didn’t they have a problem with their bread a few years ago? Something about an additive that was harmful?

in Texas, 30.07 sign or a employee asks you to leave the premises - only way to legally curtail open carrying. Their press release is meaningless, unless it is a publicity stund.
