A new estimate suggests the Milky Way is home to six billion Earth-like planets. So far, weve found just one potential candidate.
In 2009, the Kepler space telescope constantly watched over some 200,000 stars in our corner of the Milky Way. It was looking for where life might existby pinpointing small, rocky planets in the temperate zones of warm, yellow suns, and figuring out just how special Earth is in the grand scheme of things. While the mission revolutionized the study of exoplanets, those main objectives went largely unfulfilled. A mechanical failure cut short Keplers initial survey in 2013. Astronomers would later discover just a single Earthlike planet in its dataset.
A decade later, researchers are finally closing in on some of the answers to the questions Kepler raised. Earthlike planets are probably rare, but not exceedingly so. Roughly one in five yellow stars could have one, according to a new analysis of Keplers data published in May in The Astronomical Journal. If the researchers conclusions are correct, that would mean the Milky Way might be home to nearly 6 billion Earths. Yet of the 4,000 likely exoplanets weve spotted, just one looks anything like our home planet. So where are the rest?
[Truly Earthlike planets] are not hiding per se, its just that the sensitivity of our telescopes is simply not good enough yet [to find them], says Dirk Schulze-Makuch, an astrobiologist at the Technical University Berlin, Germany, who was not involved with the research.

It’s amazing to me that so many people seem to think that planets in far-flung galaxies existing under conditions which we may not have yet imagined, must have ‘life’ and even ‘technologies’ just like ours...
We’re under quarantine due to the sin virus so they are all cloaked from us so our peering through telescopes won’t infect their sanctified lives!!! Be patient, because soon that will all be changed in the blink of an eye... keep looking up though... and think about repenting.
If they are technologically behind us, they are incapable of it. If they are even four thousand years more advanced, we have nothing to offer them. Would we spend billions of dollars, maybe trillions, to go have a big pow-wow with cavemen halfway across the galaxy?
Are you kidding me? As nuts as this place is, I’d hide from us, too.
Well, language aside, if there’s nobody else out there, it would be an ‘awful waste of space’.

That possibility has occurred to me as well. Following my own imperfect logic, I also thought that if one or many civilizations exists that did not “partake of the forbidden fruit”, couldn’t there be one or many, like us, who did?
Time.
As vast as is the universe, Time is even more vast.
We have had broadcasting technology for less than 200 years. Let’s call it the “radio age”
What are the odds another civilization’s “radio age” results in a broadcast that travels over millions of light years to exactly correspond with our ability to detect it.

I suppose there is a temptation to speculate. So many here have gotten so used to the sinful nature of human nature that it’s hard for them to believe that we might be the only ones who joined the rebellion against the Almighty. We’ll certainly find out during the trip through the universe after the second manifestation of said Almighty who will soon arrive! The first rebel is really busy these days because his time is almost up!!!

THANK YOU!
These kinds of threads remind me of when Badger and Skinny Pete spend hours making up fake plots for Star Trek on “Breaking Bad”.
I know, it drives me absolutely mad to see this BS. It really shows how biblically illiterate our nation is and moreover, how to settle truth claims.
Exactly.
Just because we can’t detect any doesn’t mean nobody is out there. There’s a hundred billion stars in this galaxy on the low end. An earth-like planet bearing life would be... difficult to find.
please read this sentence:

They are radioing back “Send less Justin Bieber.”
Well they don’t evolve but viruses tend to mutate quite quickly.
And if it’s done to protect themselves from new treatments then that is kind of evolving
