Wow... Which video are you watching? She wasn’t preventing him from leaving. The road was behind him. She was preventing him from getting closer to the monument. No one was approaching, or approached him until he threw her down. My take... He showed up there with bad intent, hence the pepper spray already in his hand and wanted to get closer to the monument so he could use it on those at the top. Dude was looking for trouble and he found it. The other guys from the NMCG did things right. They acted professionally and we’re calm. The only exception would be the guy running around with the blue mask on. I don’t know what the heck he was doing.
Yep, the skateboard seemed to be an afterthought. You can see him charge in, bend over and pick up the board a second or two before he whacked our hero with it. That’s when he, I think, lost control of the board and dropped it, revealing, OMG, he has knives in his hands!
Yes, And supposedly there was an undercover detective there who has witnessed everything and they were taunting Baca and threatening him, that’s why he initially started to back away/retreat, only to have that scank try to stop him from moving away from a threatening situation.
He WAS shot in the back. Geez... did you even watch any of the videos? They rolled him on his back and lifted his shirt... not a scratch. Rolled him over to do a blood sweep and found two GSWs. Look a the videos... blood all over his back and nothing on his chest or abdomen.
I have watched multiple videos...from the angle I saw it looked like he was leaving along with the others that were armed there. She was definitely in his path of departure. Then adjusted as he tried to go around her after he said something to her. Unfortunately, the videos are being taken down as fast as they are put up. So I can’t find the long version right now. They are being edited down to 10-20 seconds of him throwing her so you can’t see the orientation or what happened before. Just like the idiots who think removing a statue will erase history...they think they can rewrite what happened here.
And here you go assuming and stating what he planned to do? It is as bad as what all these idiots there were doing... What video are you watching...you picked up on the fact he was carrying spray and then decided to just make up a story for what he was doing? You know what he intended? You know he planned to use it on those at the top? You know he had bad intent?
hmmm...you need rethink what you think you know and stop posting made up stories

Baca might still get of on self-defense based off the bums rush, the skateboard, the strikes to the head by the girl and the other attacker and the threats even though he started the entire thing... my opinion.
A good prosecutor will definitely exploit the fact the attacker was shot in the back.
First of all, this is New Mexico, so there's assault which doesn't require actual contact and there's battery which is actual contact intended to cause harm. Baca was surrounded and was trying to go somewhere else. Judging from the direction Baca went afterwards he was trying to leave the mob. She moves to block Baca and makes contact, he moves right to go around, she moved right to block him and made contact to block him. She puts her right elbow into the right side of his shoulder or neck. That's all before 00:06. The person holding the camera is moving towards Baca at the start of the video, people were shouting at him, so events were already in motion. The redshirted guy who tries to take Baca down after the woman is taken down, he was moving up behind Baca and around to the right to block him, that's his hand waving at the start of the video.
It's a common misconception that blocking someone isn't a crime and isn't offensive. Blocking someone who's trying to avoid being surrounded by a mob of hostile people and get to safety, that there is assault in New Mexico.
I can’t see how any sane jury would see otherwise. The guy made a clear and distinct verbal threat and had a knife.
Plus the fact that he made a clear, audible verbal threat.
I just want to know who made his holster.
Thanks for the insight. I havent seen anything prior to the :06 mark of the SLO-MO video. I think most folks are seeing the video which starts after the camera operator moved to the right, just as Baca says something to her. I didnt notice red-shirt. Ill have to go back and look specifically for him. Thanks!
No offense, but you are a moron.
Why do you believe Im a moron? Specifics please. Refusal to answer makes you a coward.
It appears you have a propensity for name calling. Moron, idiot... things of that nature, but you dont offer anything substantial at alll. Three to five words per sentence and youre out. Is that because youre afraid of dialogue? Perspectives? Low intelligence and an inability to communicate above and beyond a few grunts and growls? Just wondering.
I am not sure it is a knife. Looks like it might be a garrotte with two handles.
There is something in each hand, and it looks as though there is could be a thin wire or cable between them.
what’s in the left hand looks pointed like a knife blade to me- but heck, even if it is a garrote he was still screaming he was gonna kill the man and had a deadly weapon in his hands to do so
A screen grab from early on in his pursuit of the shooter, it shows that he did have glasses in his hand at that point.
The DA also said they found multiple weapons including knives at the scene...so we may never know definitively what it was given the resolution/clarity of the video.
