What can we do to publicly show our support of police? (Vanity)
6-11-20 | Myself

I asking for suggestions on how we can show our public support for police. It should be something we can do enmasse. Many of us have watched this assault on our country with horrified impotence. This can't continue.

We need some way to show police that we are behind the police and appreciate them and that we support the rule of law.

Voting for Donald Trump will send that general message.

I do think the President would do himself a favor and defuse some of the tense atmosphere simply by saying “we support the rule of law, the police are a necessary part of that, and it is reasonable to expect the police also to abide by the laws that govern their important duties.”

Anyone who would argue with that is either an anarchist or an idiot. If there’s a difference.

When I’m behind a cop car at the Dunkin’ drive-thu, I always pay it forward.

You see them quite a bit in New England. 🍩☕️

I think that would be an excellent message
for Trump to relate right now.

The democrat controlled media deliberate miss portraying the six foot seven inch 200 plus pound Floyd as an innocent black who was being forceably restrained because he was black not because he was resisting arrest. When He was legitimately arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 dollar bill he was resisting arrest and was a threat if not secured. But the media was not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control. The results of politically induced miss reporting incidents where blacks have resisted legitimate arrest began to be used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial, then on to the Ferguson episode. Obama’s abuse of the “Bully Pulpit” which seemed to promote resistance to legitimate arrest led to black gangs attacking non blacks found innocently traversing black neighborhoods and to a score of murders or life changing injuries and later attacks of theft and vandalism on local businesses as well as attacks and murders of police officers during that period.
Instead of encouraging the offender to comply with the Law Enforcement Officer he defended their resistance which gave that LEO what choice ?

Folks, I am for law and order as much as the next guy but aren't we forgetting something here?
Just three weeks ago weren't these same police out there terrorizing and harassing law abiding citizens just for the “crime” of daring to come out of their homes to visit the next door neighbor (Michigan) or taking their child for a walk to escape stifling lockdowns or in the case of that lady in Wisconsin daring to bring her daughter out into the yard for her birthday?
I remember how we were outraged when the Gestapo sorry police drove to this woman's trailer and tried to terrorize her.
And it's no use saying “Oh but they were only carrying out orders”.
That's what the Nazis said too.
We happen to have a constitution and a bill of rights. If Garcetti tells the LAPD to go shoot someone for not social distancing, are they going to do that too?
It's funny how the NYPD were so gang ho and tough and uncompromising when dealing with the 70 year old tailor who dared to open his shop in New York, yet turned to jelly and let Antifa and Black Lives Matter loot and burn and destroy and kill in midtown Manhattan and didn't do much of anything about it.
The police need to realize that the law abiding tax paying citizens that they terrorized during lockdowns are the only thing keeping the police in business.

Get up, go to work, pay your bills, and act like a normal human being. Do that, and you may never meet a police officer in your life.

If everybody did this, we wouldn't NEED any police officers.

I agree with you 100%. None of this "Blue Lives Matter" sh!t for me.

This idea that Americans have come to take for granted -- that we need police officers “to serve and protect” us -- has no place in a free nation. This country was built by people who were perfect capable of PROTECTING THEMSELVES.

The purpose of “law enforcement” isn’t to protect the citizens at large. It’s to ensure that accused criminals are apprehended and protected so they can be subject to legitimate trials instead of hunted down and given “justice” by armed vigilantes.

We -- including conservatives -- have forgotten this fundamental aspect of the U.S. legal system over the years. As a result, we no longer think of the police as law enforcement officers and instead see them as nothing more than armed security guards doing a job that we are too lazy and irresponsible to do ourselves.

When antifa attacks you and the police stand by and watch, say thank you to them.

This idea that Americans have come to take for granted — that we need police officers “to serve and protect” us —

Well we found out very quickly over the past two weeks that they are neither capable nor willing to protect anybody. Apart from Whitmer, Cuomo, Murphy, DeBlasio etc of course who continue to have their full police detail even as the country burns.

The purpose of “law enforcement” isn’t to protect the citizens at large. It’s to ensure that accused criminals are apprehended and protected so they can be subject to legitimate trials instead of hunted down and given “justice” by armed vigilantes.

Pretty much.

I participate in a charity bicycle ride called “The Ben to the Shore”. It is organized by Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation. We raise millions of dollars to support the families of fallen first responders in the Philadelphia metro area.

The left has turned, or tried to turn, every aberration you can think of into normal behavior. To them there is no moral code to live by.
