The attentive reader will notice that Bender didn't answer the question. She deflected it with an accusation of privilege, as if it were somehow racist to expect police protection from a city to which the citizen is paying taxes for precisely that. Stupid, yes. Stupid and evil, yes.

Lord, reading this reminds me of living in Santa Cruz, California in the mid 1980s after I got out of the Marines.
I guarantee you that every business in the Minn-StPaul area is right now working on a plan to relocate to safer location should the Police Dept get de-funded. Those who cannot move are working on plans that include private security budget increases ... on-site guards, more cameras, etc. Any business that cannot do either of those things will close up shop, clean out the bank account, and most likely leave the state.
The tax revenue stream will evaporate. Obviously none of those Minn city council folks are bright enough to realize the impact of their actions.
This is absolutely what they are aiming for.
So when the taxpayers decide to burn down the parasite hood, anyone expecting “help” is privileged? I can live with that.
There will be order, and even rules of sorts. Just not the rules to which we are accustomed today. The people who enforce the new rules will do so with decisive actions from which there will be no appeal.
Everybody will hate the new rules. But people crave order more than chaos. They will mostly submit to the new authorities.

As long as there is someone left who will obey their orders they will be content. The ultimate proof of power is to give insane directions to people who then follow them with visible displays of obedience. The more destructive the orders the better for demonstrating power. That is the entire point of the exercise.
Don't expect things to get better.
