I guarantee you that every business in the Minn-StPaul area is right now working on a plan to relocate to safer location should the Police Dept get de-funded. Those who cannot move are working on plans that include private security budget increases ... on-site guards, more cameras, etc. Any business that cannot do either of those things will close up shop, clean out the bank account, and most likely leave the state.
The tax revenue stream will evaporate. Obviously none of those Minn city council folks are bright enough to realize the impact of their actions.
They do not care.
As long as there is someone left who will obey their orders they will be content. The ultimate proof of power is to give insane directions to people who then follow them with visible displays of obedience. The more destructive the orders the better for demonstrating power. That is the entire point of the exercise.
Don't expect things to get better.
