BRUNSWICK, Ga. – A quick acting police officer in Brunswick stopped a teenager with a loaded gun from entering a high school basketball game Tuesday night.
Police arrested 19-year-old Ahmaud Marquez Avery (pictured below), who is not a student at Brunswick.
"The man ran through the parking lot. I tried to get him to stop as well. He would not stop for us," said Glynn County Schools Chief of Police, Rod Ellis. "We ended up chasing him to the back of the school were other officers helped us apprehend him."
Ellis said the .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun slipped out of the teen's pants.

Attacking someone is a crime, whether they are holding a gun or not. And that is precisely what the dead perp did, when in fact he could have turned left or right and avoided them entirely. Instead he chose to attack them.

Your premise is just wrong over and over again. Running from the scene of a crime you just committed isn’t illegal I don’t guess so you might be right about that.

If you think these men chased him down to simply “execute” him then you’re VERY dense. Put the media away and think for yourself.
Why didn’t they just shoot him upon sight if that’s the case? Why did they tell STOP IT! STOP! At him as he was charging if their end goal was death. Why not shoot him them?
They had zero authority to ask him to stop
They admitted that they were there conducting a citizens arrest, which they had zero license according to GA Law to do so. That, combined with the gun, makes them vigilantes looking to get revenge on a man that they believed committed a crime of trespassing, on land they don’t own and a crime they themselves admitted to not even witnessing.
Yes, that is a giant problem for them, and it could get them murder 1, which by the way, they deserve here.

The morons admitting to performing a ‘Citizens Arrest’ is why this is should be a murder charge, they went after a man, who’s only crime is a 2nd hand info that he might have trespassed onto a construction site. That isn’t going to fly well with a Jury.
They confronted the man with a shot gun, 3 vs 1, yelling at the man and wanted to “talk to him”, blocking his way with their truck. If you were the man, would you believe these people are reasonable? Would you want to stay around and find out what they wanted? Is this a friendly way to “talk about it”. Or would you think these yahoos wanted to cause harm to this man, tie him up and drag him down the road behind their truck? Who knows what was going through that man’s mind.
The aggressors were the three yahoos with guns chasing after this man. That is the fact. That is the fact that matters
