The truth is Trump had no choice but to play along. It became obvious very early on they would crucify him if he didn’t. The proof of this is the attack ads laced with Trump sound bites from the time the rats are running in the swing states. He did a brilliant pivot with the shutdown and the briefings. It is the consequence of this hitting nine months out from the election.

I did actually watch it for a little while last night, due to Hannity was being so redundant about Trump started travel bans while the Dems were busy impeaching. While true, it is not something I need Sean H to tell me 15 times per night on his show.
Anyway, poor Rachel Maddow (who seemed to be acting like she was about to cry throughout this segment) did a long run-down of the Covid-19 graphs and charts, showing how they backed up her theory that everything was Trump’s fault, and then felt she needed to point out that it was not only his fault for the USA, but since we are a “world leader”, it is his fault for the GLOBAL deaths and fallout.
Then she had on the Chicago mayor, and besides discussing all the doom and gloom of the pandemic in Chicago (also Trump’s fault), they agreed with each other that there must be something RACIST involved, based on the victim numbers in Chicago.
I don’t know if it is the same as around here, but in Omaha, they finally CLOSED ALL THE CITY PARKS due to a certain demographic of people kept having LARGE gatherings, parties, etc. some up to 1,000 people. And Tuesday night, 3 people were shot at one of these social non-distancing parties, one of whom died.
So no one around here can go to any parks now, due to certain people, who will be shown to be victims of Covid-19 at a higher incidence level, cannot seem to follow the guidelines.
But... I didn’t watch Chris Hayes, and rarely watch MSNBC.
