Bottom line is, Trump could cure cancer and they'd accuse him of depriving the doctors and other medical personnel who specialize in treating cancer of their income. Lord preserve us from fakes, phonies and frauds!

Politically, this was very smart and should have been done earlier.
100,000 is still not out of the question. This disease has fooled us many times.

Note that Birx strongly criticized the model which showed over a million deaths. I think she’s trying to be realistic but not overly optimistic.

And her health Minister too.

3 weeks ago they were predicting 2 million deaths in Germany due to coronavirus.
Which would be 8 million in the USA.

But so far Germany’s had 3000 deaths.
Which, as Chris Haynes says, makes Trump look like a hero!

My point is that it’s best to set realistic expectations, but more on the pessimistic side.

In February Trump predicted the 15 cases would soon go down to zero. Now the media is using that as a benchmark for his failure.
