Furor Erupts Over Killing of Witness in MS-13 Gang Case. The slaying became a flash point for opponents of changes to the criminal justice system pushed by progressive lawmakers in New York.

In October 2018, Wilmer Maldonado Rodriguez stepped in to protect two boys who were being threatened by members of the MS-13 gang on Long Island, officials said. In return, the gang members stabbed Mr. Rodriguez repeatedly and hit him in the head with a bat.

Despite the vicious assault, Mr. Rodriguez agreed to testify against the gang members, who were charged with assault and witness intimidation as a result of the attack, officials said.

On Sunday, Mr. Rodriguez was found beaten to death, and by Wednesday, his killing became a flash point for opponents of a series of criminal justice changes enacted by the New York State Legislature in 2019 at the urging of progressive lawmakers.

Since the start of the year, when the changes took effect, police officials and prosecutors in New York State have mostly focused their criticism on an overhaul of the bail laws, which they said was allowing criminals to go free.

But the killing of Mr. Rodriguez, 36, turned attention to a change in the state’s so-called discovery law, which governs when prosecutors must turn over information about their investigative findings.

The murder came several weeks after a judge ordered prosecutors to disclose Mr. Rodriguez’s identity to lawyers who represented his alleged attackers, as called for by revisions to the discovery process generally requiring that such information be shared within 15 days of a first court appearance. New York previously let prosecutors wait until the eve of trial to turn over the material.

Madeline Singas, the Nassau County district attorney, said that being forced to identify Mr. Rodriguez well before trial had hampered the authorities’ ability to protect him — ultimately costing him his life.

“This courageous man was prepared to testify against alleged assailants at an upcoming trial

"The mob kills snitches. Even decades later people are afraid to say things even in passing."

In Arkansas if you start talking to an old timer about the Clintons they'll take a quick look around to see if anybody might hear them before they say anything.

This isn't a Mexican mob

This is an international terror group which is protected by ‘progressive politics’

This is part of Obama's plan for America:

Obama’s statement in an October 2008 campaign visit to Columbia, Mo:

...we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.

This is an interview by Bill O’Reilly.

Bill completely was owned by Obama as BO'R ‘s last statement was “...I think — I — you know, I know you think maybe we haven't been fair, but I think your heart is in the right place.”

So, MS13 is using fear to 'buy influence'

NY lets them back on the streets no matter what they do.

They use machetes to hack people up

Plus the cut heads off of people.

Plus they torture and rape people.

Yet they are given sanctuary by progressive dem Politians.

What a coincidence!

This was one of the plots of “Reckless,” Season 10, Episode 13 of Blue Bloods. Erin, the Assistant DA couldn’t protect a witness because the defense attorney had the information of the crime victim and there was fear the perp would have access to it. There was discussion in the episode about how the law and changed in NYC and it was causing witnesses to think twice about testifying against criminals.

Time to list every Democrat in the State Assembly/govt who voted for this deadly law change, as well as judges who don’t exercise the extraordinary powers they have to prevent these types of disclosures on the grounds tha they endanger the witness - with this gentleman’s death being the precedent.

When are New Yorkers going to revolt and destroy the Cuomo mafia govt and the State Assembly which is as corrupt and Marxist as any in America?

“The murder came several weeks after a judge ordered prosecutors to disclose Mr. Rodriguez’s identity to lawyers who represented his alleged attackers”

If the lawyer told his clients, he ought to be disbarred and jailed. Why didn’t Mr. Rodriguez get the protection Blowy gets. Should he have also told prosecutors he saw Trump spit on the sidewalk once.

Nope. They will still justify it if they hate Trump enough since the majority of the victims are not their own.
