Sad. It has been a way of life in my North American family since 1632.

They need more hunting especially of deer. Too many deer are killing off the local vegetation.

Gun sales are through the roof. Hunting licenses are down.

The media still talks about gun control in terms of deer hunting. “No one needs an AR-15 to hunt deer”. More and more it becomes clear that gun ownership is for other purposes. As the Founders intended.

No short fall in Wisconsin. Plus you are allowed to kill almost all the deer you want.

Hunting has saved more land and more species than all the SJW feel good programs combined.

Many fathers these days have no tradition of hunting. The schools are turning our young men into spineless wimps. The influx of foreigners who have no tradition of hunting.

The Left hates guns and hates hunters (except Biden’s) so they got a bunch of fees and taxes passed associated with hunting licenses so now that hunting is declining, the media mourns that governments aren’t generating enough tax revenue! Same story when it came to smoking.

Liberals fail to understand cause and effect.

It is very sad.
Wildlife needs to be culled.
Deer are very common in my neighborhood. We have overgrown areas for them so they can move through them or bed down in them. But deer are dangerous.

Washington state used to have one hunting season. Now we have more hunting seasons than you count. Its so convoluted you can’t keep up. Same with fishing.

You better read and understand all the regulations before getting your license or you could find yourself in deep deer shit.

100 for many decades, finally had to quit because of my health. I loved duck hunting especially. The biggest obstacle I always encountered, was access to suitable access to properties and water. That’s usually as big a problem as anything.

Hunting is slowly dying off in the same way that making your own clothes slowly died off. Buying rather than providing it yourself is both cheaper and easier. Both were reduced to “hobby” status in the 20th century.

I guess they haven’t been around Texas on the Opening Day of deer season.

Same hunting club has been leasing our land for 30+ years. It has been a wonderful relationship. They also help keep people from dumping trash on the property. Without hunters, the deer reproduce until they starve themselves and die miserably.

Sarah Palin was always my poster girl for hunting. Brought back some pretty good eating, as well as several notable trophies.

Ww need you, Sarah. If only as a mentor for this generation.

I agree urban millennial snowflakes don’t hunt

But I can tell you this

In areas where people do hunt it’s more costly and hunting leases are a at a premium compared to my youth

It’s difficult honestly and expensive

More deer although cyclical natural diseases hurt this season in the south

Less ducks

Not sure about dove..

Turkeys ...everywhere

That’s a problem as others have pointed out, not only due to the lost revenue which helps conserve wildlife and undeveloped land but also because deer populations especially have exploded. Since we no longer have wolves anywhere in the East and since Black and Brown bears as well as Mountain Lions have been greatly reduced, there are no longer the apex predators to keep their populations under control.

My sister cannot garden any more because the deer come into her back yard and eat everything. One even gave birth in her back yard. When I walk my dog on the greenway we routinely encounter herds of deer which hardly bother noticing us as we walk by within 10 yards of them. They cause auto accidents and even some fatalities. They are a pest and need to be seriously culled.

There are too many deer.
One the way to work in early December, I hit one and had $2300 in damages to my car. My boss hit one the week before and it caused $7800 in damages.
The local land can’t support the number of deer here and many starve during the winter.
It doesn’t help that the Bambi-lovers made hunting illegal in this county.

I hunted quite a bit when younger. When open land was a lot more plentiful and the local ranchers would let a teenager hunt on their land.

Now -- forget it. Almost everywhere I used to hunt is now cookie-cutter homes as far as the eye can see. Ranchers, fearing lawsuits, no longer give permission to hunt their lands any longer. If you have enough land to shoot on yourself, even then, 30+ years of brainwash has too many people dialing 9-1-1 at the sound of a shot; didn't used to be this way either.

Add to that all the time demands of work and family, and it's just not feasible.

I don’t hunt anymore - too much work. Although I think hunters and hunting are a good thing, I’ve gotten too old with too many joint problems to tramp through the woods.
