A pro-Confederate group is trying to stop removal of the statue, which has been stationed outside the county courthouse in Pittsboro since 1907.
Notice the provocative wording, "Pro Confederate group". Could it be the group just doesn't want the landscape devoid of history and traces of the path. Could it be the group is against Talabanic destruction of statues and artifacts?

Glad to see protests against this leftist action.

When small towns in rural areas start erasing history, something has changed.

Next we will be having the landscape of the Bible (beginning over 3400 years ago) changed to fit the times in which we find ourselves. We are truly a nation gone berserk!

I grew up in Chatham County, NC just a few miles from Pittsboro. It was a wonderful area with great friendly people. About three years ago, Northerners began to move down here to escape the high taxes levied by the Democrat politicians in New York and other cities and states. They ran for political offices down here and now hold the majority of the Chatham County Commissioners seats. Since then, everything has started to go downhill. Sad.

Pro-Confederate or Pro-historical preservation?
Cultural Marxists are engaging in a Maoist Revolution. They’ve let it slip that Thomas Jefferson also must go.

A new Democrat president will likely by executive order direct the nation park service to close military monuments to the Confederacy, such as Vicksburg, MS, and remove anything “Confederate” located within the other national parks that extol the Union victory, such as Gettysburg. The American people should get off their couches and wake up.

Notice the provocative wording, "Pro Confederate group". The name of the group is United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), which is the same group who donated the statue to the town of Pittsboro NC 100 years ago.
It would accurate to identify them as pro-Confederate, don't you agree?

I’ve actually been to Pittsboro and seen that monument. For God’s sake just leave it alone.

“Pro-Confederate”? Why not Pro-History?

Confederate soldiers are US army veterans, by law. Their memorials must be treated as what they are, US veteran memorials.
