I grew up in Chatham County, NC just a few miles from Pittsboro. It was a wonderful area with great friendly people. About three years ago, Northerners began to move down here to escape the high taxes levied by the Democrat politicians in New York and other cities and states. They ran for political offices down here and now hold the majority of the Chatham County Commissioners seats. Since then, everything has started to go downhill. Sad.

Same thing here. And they read the same newspapers they read back home, and vote the same way. Our local newspaper prints articles from the NYT and WaComPost. They are trashing our area like they did where they came from.

I live about halfway between Pittsboro and Siler City.
Pittsboro is a bedroom town for Chapel Hill.
County government seems to be a battle between them and the old boy developers who can’t wait to build McMansions on 1/8 acres lots.
Most of us want to be left alone.

A family friend moved from Arizona to Pittsboro with her family last year, and so far they love it. Theyre conservative and in their 30s, but her father lives in NC too and hes a raging liberal.
