Although the wealthy can and should be expected to make larger sacrifices than the middle class, it's vanishingly unlikely that any plan serious enough to slow global warming will leave the bulk of Americans financially untouched.
But if Americans are going to be asked to engage in a war on climate change, they should understand the material and economic sacrifices that will be required of them. The best way to do this is to look at an ambitious, well-crafted climate plan like the one put forward by Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

The "rich" are not going to pay for climate change solutions. They didn't become rich by giving their money away. Everyone will have to pay and as France discovered, it's easy to talk a virtuous game about solving climate change up until the cost for it is on the gas pumps, and then there's rioting in the streets.
Same thing will happen here.

We cannot live a carbon-free lifestyle, nor should we desire to. We are made of carbon. If the left got its way and actually started removing carbon from the atmosphere, they would be reducing the biosphere. As the carbon concentration drops, species will go extinct, deserts will grow, and the earth will warm because bare earth converts sunlight into heat far more effectively than plant covered earth.

Reasonably good summary. There is one effect that is totally known physics that has not been factored into the climate biz at all, and that is electromagnetism. The sun has a magnetic field (which is currently (no pun intended) increasing). The earth’s interior is an electric conductor (gigawatts of circulating current).
Physics says “conductors moving in a magnetic field cause current to flow”.
HOW MUCH DOES THE CHANGE IN THE SUN’S FIELD INCREASE THOSE CURRENTS??
The electromagnetic effect is totally independent of the “standard model” of energy transfer to earth by light photons, yet is completely ignored.
This is about the best explanation I’ve seen for the whole “climate change” situation. Of all the things we need to be concerned about, climate change(except coping with natural seasonal changes) is hardly even on the list for thinking Americans.

Anyone remember SUN DAY? from Popular Science, Apr 1978 issue.
May 3, 1978 was to be the day! The organizers of EARTH DAY planned a get together to celebrate that day to “Lead the US into the Solar era!”
Over 40 years later they are still trying to make solar (and wind) their go-to energy to drive the US economy with their Green New Deal.
In 2018, total solar generation by commercial power operations and estimated small scale photovoltaic generation, was only 2.30% of total U.S. electricity production. Wind provided only 6.3% in 2017.
So wind and solar combined total only 8.6% of US energy requirements.
Best estimates are that these two sources will only be able to provide 20-25% maximum in the future. I think that number is a stretch unless or until technology catches up with Leftist ideology.
And these climate cult idiots want to eliminate fossil fuels completely without an explanation of how the remaining bulk of the energy requirements for the country are going to be met.
Not very "forward" thinking these ex-bartenders and angry Swedish 16 year olds.
