The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has charged two teens for the random, unprovoked physical attack of a 59-year-old man at the Great Frederick Fair.
The victim was found near the midway area of the fairgrounds around 5:36 p.m. Friday, lying unconscious. Police interviewed multiple witnesses who told them the victim had been minding his own business.
Maryland State Police airlifted the victim to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he died from his injuries Saturday. An autopsy is now scheduled at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine an exact cause of death.
According to law enforcement sources, the two teenage suspects, ages 15 and 16, may have been playing the so-called "knockout game" at the time of the wanton attack. A spokesperson for the Frederick County Sheriff's Office would not confirm that notion but stated it would "certainly be looked at."

Frederick is not the kind of place where you expect such things to happen. We did not go to the fair this year because we have other, pressing things to do, but would have liked to have gone.
As my son said, the victim could have been any one of us.
Knock out game?
The stupid leftist actually mean, vicious violent assault. But knockout game seems so much more pleasing and acceptable.

The law probably won’t allow for this but it should—execute them and soon. Do it to every punk who does this. Give them justice’s knockout punch.

I won’t refute that in the least. But carrying most likely wouldn’t prevent these kinds of attacks. These disgusting vermin walk up behind people unawares and blindside them with their hardest punch.
By the time the victim, or even people around them who would intervene, are aware of the attack, the damage is done.
Is the race of the victim known for sure? (NOT that it matters, it does not, but I am curious.) My kid lives in MD, but not this county.

They caught them and there is apparently video of the crime. The below article states that there was a “large group of teens” that the police broke up. It seems that it has become de rigueur for certain groups to go to summer fairs and run wild.

Here’s my bet. They’ll be charged with murder. It will get pled down to manslaughter. Then - because of their ages - they’ll get five years in juvenile detention.
If they get 10 minutes it will be a miracle. It is a waste of time to take them in. They will be back on the streets playing their game before the police finish their paperwork.
