No, but there ARE lots of hard-core-leftist eco-radicals in that area ...

somebody probably got envious of “corporate money” making a profit off their sacred mountain, or some similar crap ...

I rode the one at Stone Mountain. It seems you are far above everything but actually never that far off the ground.

Far enough to seriously injure you but not an automatic death sentence.

My guess is the local Amish cut them overnight...

By “Amish” do you mean white eco-warrior leftists?

also done the cable to the top of Matterhorn. that one lands at a big hole cut thru a rock pinnacle. that one is really scary.

Ahh, yes, the Klein Matterhorn tram. I have seen it on many occasions but could not bring myself to ride it. The drop as it travels across the valley below is staggering (like 3000 feet!). Of course, anything over 100 ft is going to kill you but mentally, I just couldn't do it.

Disneyworld is about to start using these next month to get from some of the resorts to the parks.

Aside from the two major issues they seem to be ignoring in Florida; the gondolas stupidly have no AC and a large cable transport system in hurricane country?! - this will probably now be a major concern as Disney is a terrorist target.

Someone on another site’s discussion speculated that the perp had only intended to damage the cord with the intent of it breaking during the day.

Free republic tradition. Who reads the whole article or even the whole excerpt? We are traditionalists. We comment without reading.

Note: I assume no one read my entire post either.

[Vancouver makes San Fran look like Reagan’s home. Anyone remember the 2003 Iraq War? EVERY STREET they were burning American flags EVERY WEEK for the next 8 months. I remember it vividly...]

It’s not just Vancouver. During the invasion of Iraq, I remember sitting on a plane next to a bunch of Canucks from Toronto. They were taking turns going on about Bush being a warmonger, Americans being insane, and so on.

Apparently some folks here don't get that Amish is sarcasm for Islamic terrorism. I'm betting Islamic as well. They hate achievements which are not theirs

Planes, skyscrapers and now this.

Okay. A lot of people use then to good advantage.

There are few problems as a whole.

It’s up to you to evaluate.

I don’t advocate you use them until you are comfortable. You’ll create a problem for yourself out of the tension.

I’ve done the “Peak to Peak” at Whistler, but never got around to trying this one.

Cool ride, but not for the faint of heart.

“My guess is the local Amish cut them overnight, maybe not all the way thru, hoping the balance of the cable would snap once passengers got on board”

Yea, I was thinking the same - not much value in simply taking down a bunch of empty cars, when, if you do the calculations correctly, you can bring down the infidel with them.

I can expertly say it comes to down to the infamous “canadian INFERIORITY complex”. Deep down canadians know they cant compete with Americans (except for hockey lol) so i they have a chance to get back at Americans, they do it.

All those “anti war protests” in 2003 were YEARS of built-up jealousy and hatred towards their richer and more powerful neighbor..it had little to do with the invasion.
