Ross Perot donated to Trump’s re-election campaign before death: report
Fox News ^ | July 09 2019 | Bradford Betz

In his last documented political act, self-made billionaire and two-time presidential candidate Ross Perot wrote out two checks to President Trump’s re-election campaign before succumbing to his battle with leukemia at the age of 89, according to a report.

Perot, who ran for president as a third-party candidate in 1992 and 1996, is largely credited with providing a road map for Trump's presidential campaign.

Like Trump, Perot ran as a billionaire populist against the Republican establishment. His focus on the North American Free Trade Agreement – rather than the national debt – and his use of cable news for laying out his agenda were both familiar elements of Trump’s campaign.

Bill Clinton won the presidency with 42% of the vote.

After handing us Clinton, he owed us a hell of a lot more than that.

The corruption of our federal government was never so clear before Clinton. Then Obama came along and built off of that.

Yes Ross, you owed us big-time.

Lets go back to the summer of 1980 and how Reagan was forced into the corner....to bring Bush onto the VP slot. There were nine possible choices. Kemp could have been brought in and done a great job. Howard Baker could have done a great job. Guy Vander Jagt was even on the list. But we were stuck with Bush, and Perot dismantled the Bush re-election in 1992.

RR wanted his good friend Paul Laxalt from Nevada. Damned shame that we got stuck with the Bushes instead. They did a lot of damage to the country. Yeah, I voted for them 4 times but never in a primary. Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito and the 2001 tax cuts are about the only good things about ‘em .

That’s two Trump donating billionaires this week that died.

Perot and the WV coal mining guy in the copter crash.

Perot dismantled the Bush re-election in 1992

He couldn't have done it without help from Bush himself ... who TH goes around dramatically saying that they won't raise taxes, then they raise the taxes?

Makes someone look like a liar and and idiot ... easy meat for a challenger

Sleazeball Clinton or globalist Bush, what a choice ... no wonder Perot got votes that year

The Republican party is not our friend. Perot understood that. Trump does now also. Perot made the mistake I’m thinking he could overcome the two party system, but he was right that it needed to be overthrown.

All the people here blaming Perot for “giving us Clinton” are blaming one person for running as an Independent instead of blaming the two party system and the voters.

Yeah. I thought of voting for Perot. But changed my mind in the booth. I figured a vote for Perot would probably be a vote for Clinton. And it surely turned out that way.

Ross Perot was going to win the race.

Time to relook as to why he dropped out then dropped back in the race.

That was what spilled his momentum. Otherwise he had the race won.

Wow. Never really thought about it that way before. We have been saddled with Bush/Clinton ever since.

I suppose the obvious symptom was the first Bush? After that it was all deep state run characters !

Two party system? What would you have. European parliamentary bull crap where you pick up votes from a Marxist party in exchange for health care for all?

No thanks. It’s not a two party system. It just works out that way most of the time. Any number of parties can play.

I’m not sure I blame Perot for Clinton’s win. Those who wanted change, and there were plenty, would have had to choose between Perot and Clinton. In effect, the majority voted for change.
