Now that’s classy.

Not worth two terms of Clinton and all his appointed judges. A new tax would have been cheaper.

"After handing us Clinton...."

He didn't hand us Klinton - HW Bush and the RINO Republicans did.
If I had a do-over, I'd vote for Perot over HW again.

We know GHWB voted for Hillary; he could have voted for Bill in 1992 also as he was such a “gentleman” loser.

I’d have much more respect for Perot if he ran in the primary like Trump did.

The flaw in our system is that we need runoff elections. At least Trump had the decency to run in the primary.

“Kemp could have been brought in and done a great job.”

Ugh. You’ve opened an old wound with me. This is one of the greatest missed opportunities in American history. I can’t believe how depressed I can still get when I think about it. Can you imagine how different it would have been had Kemp continued the Reagan-Kemp legacy? No Bushes, no Clintons, in all likelihood. Or if by chance Bill did get elected down the road, he would have been a one-termer and then right back to Republican prosperity. No HRC, that’s for sure. Yes...the globalists really scored a major coup with getting Poppy installed as veep.

Since Perot, we had eight years of a perjuring rapist president, eight years of a foreign born closeted homo and his tranny "wife", 26 wonderful years of Hitlery in public life, gutter politics of personal destruction, the permanent campaign, the normalizing of abortion, pedophilia, homosexuality and severe mental illness. The mainstreaming of public sexual behavior (Lewinsky's), the degradation of religion in public life, the assault on our national foundations like the founding and history and the rationalization of hate and violence in public life. Bottom line, the inmates are now running the place.

The Clintons and subsequently the Obama’s have infested the public sphere so completely I can't open any publication without reading some tripe about global warming, “Nazis” or emotional opinions presented as “science”..

We can't have one day without at least one story about Hillary or Big Mike surrounded by glowing reportage. The Clinton's ushered in all of this and more and we're supposed to be thankful for Perot in 1992?

I like the man and I respect him for his contributions to our once great nation but his naivete killed us. He believed that everyone had the same intentions as he did. Our road to hell has been paved by these good intentions, IMO. Not just Ross, but everyone that thought the best way to win, was to lose.

Ross Perot was going to win the race.

Time to relook as to why he dropped out then dropped back in the race.

That was what spilled his momentum. Otherwise he had the race won.

Good post

"At least Trump had the decency to run in the primary."

Maybe that's a bit of hind-sight thinking - Perot thought he could mount his insurgency from without.
Trump may have learned a lesson from Perot and realized he could only mount HIS insurgency from within the Republican party.

I think, maybe, as Reagan learned from Goldwater, Trump learned from Perot.

After handing us Clinton, he owed us a hell of a lot more than that.

Bush did himself no favors by hiking taxes after the "read my lips" promise not to.

Perot did love his country.

Yes, he sure did. I appreciated the fact he presented actual SOLUTIONS during those debates while the two swamprats, Clinton and Bush, squawked about issues and traded insults.

Ross Perot was going to win the race.

I don't know if he would've won outright, but he would've had a more impactful presence on election day had he not dropped out. I suspect he might've pulled off a few southern states and possibly Maine for a George Wallace-like result.

“No thanks. It’s not a two party system. It just works out that way most of the time. Any number of parties can play.”

It’s a three party system, but no one will actually come out and say it. It’s the Conservative Party, the Socialist Party and the Establishment Party.

I voted for Perot as well, but as a Texas resident. GHWB had that state wrapped up pretty early.

I saw this on facebook with something under it saying that the story originated on a satire site.

I hope he did, but I have my doubts.

After handing us Clinton, he owed us a hell of a lot more than that.

No candidate of any party is "owed" a vote by any voter, it is the candidate who owes the voter a reason to vote and to earn a vote for them over the other candidates running. GHWB could have earned reelection if he put some actual effort into his reelection, didn't get snookered into the no new taxes bit, and failing that last bit, being halfway effective in countering the criticism for the taxes bit in the campaign.
