Matt Gaetz: ‘America First’ Means Protecting U.S. Border Before Avenging Japanese Vessels

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) suggested on Sunday that America should secure its border before avenging foreign vessels allegedly attacked by Iran. Congressman Gaetz tweeted Sunday, suggesting that America should heed Japan and Norway’s caution against war with Iran amid heightened tensions with the Middle Eastern nation.

The Florida congressman wrote, “Japanese and Norwegian vessels were attacked. If these nations aren’t calling for war, neither should the U.S. We can’t afford another #ForeverWar“:

Rep. Gaetz wrote that President Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy means that the country must protect its borders from illegal immigration and cartel violence before it attacks foreign nations.

President Donald Trump garnered much support for his America First foreign policy, contending that America should focus less on intervention and nation-building abroad and more on rebuilding the nation at home.

Yes, it does.

We are not the world policeman, and we had best fix our own country very damn soon.

First thing we need to do is replace all the Bush League Republicans like Flimsey Grahamnesty that want to get involved in every war and refuse to secure our border.

I don’t think Trump is in charge on this one, the Deep State is.

Matt, this is not about avenging attacks against Japanese ships, but rather enforcing international law about freedom of navigation in international waters. The Iranians should not be allowed to control or shut down the Straits of Hormuz.

If the Fraud was in the White House, Big Media would be reporting about Japan’s aggression against Iran, and “we” would be sending Iran more planeloads of untraceable cash, to the satisfaction of our domestic enemies at FR.

Never forget or forgive “It was their money anyway!”

I agree with Matt.I’m tired of this continuous war we have waged since 2001 and we have allowed our country to be infiltrated by potential terrorist from around the world.

We need to defend this country here at our borders.

It’s vaguely similar to lefties screaming about a MuzBro fatty killed in an Embassy on the other side of planet Earth at the same time a woman is wantonly murdered on a San Francisco pier, her killer then briefly jailed for just a GUN charge.

How can I fight over who exactly bombed the oil tanker of a rich Asian country when 5,000 people invade my homeland EVERY night..?

The Iranians should not be allowed to control or shut down the Straits of Hormuz.

Then the multi-billion dollar Saudi navy should do something about it.

Oh, they never troubled themselves to buy one? Never mind...

First off, we are NOT ‘avenging’ Japan or Norway. We are protecting and defending Freedom of Navigation for the US and, by extension, everyone, as we have done since the days of the Barbary pirates.

Secondly, we are capable of walking and chewing gun at the same time. One can interpret America first as meaning guard the border, and that to me is one priority. But that doesn’t mean we let the mad Ayatollahs run amok destabilizing the markets and trade for us as well as the rest of the world. Stability, both economic and financial, is a US interest.

Don’t like this guy. America first means keeping your mouth shut and your enemies guessing about what is next. Both are VIP. I am sick and tired of loud-mouthed, self-promoting politicians . . . don’t give a damn if he does have an R behind his name.

Let’s start enforcing our laws before we get too wrapped up in enforcing international laws. The coup conspirators need to be arrested now. Barr needs to get off his ass and abandon his Modified, Limited Hangout strategy.

Give the man a cigar. Most Americans are tired of being goaded into war by mil.gov industrialists, globalists, chicken-hawks and draft dodgers.

Stop wasting American lives and money on land wars between Mideast TRIBES who seem bent on making the world a living hell - for themselves everyone around them.
