Okie dokie. No more Roundup in Californias ag areas. I hope yall like weeds with your produce.
How much of it were they drinking?
Well this helps explains the mutations in San Francisco.
Asinine!
argued they developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma following decades of using the weedkiller.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My son has non Hodgkin lymphoma. He has never been near weedkiller of any sort.
You get cancer because you get cancer.
2 Billion, haha OK then. They will be lucky to see 2 million 15 years from now.
This tells us more about California juries than anything else.
$600-800 million for the attorneys?
The problem is that what happens in California tends to metastasize to points eastward.
$2 BILLION? An impossibly large number, which is why I used capital letters.
Well, That settles it then. If you get cancer and have every used glyphosate then that is what caused the cancer. Case closed.
If I ever get cancer I am going to find a pettifogging lawyer to sue the deepest pocket producer of anything I have ever eaten or used and sue them in the most ignorant liberal area I can possibly find.
This is absolutely stupid and dangerous.
More liberal “science.”
Monsanto should quit selling it in Calipornia. F them.
The German pharmaceutical company Bayer (yes, it makes the aspirin, too) purchased Monsanto in March 2018, after a very intense two year regulatory process.
When it became clear in 2017 that the Monsanto purchase would likely be approved, Bayer’s stock jumped to $35 a share.
Then, almost immediately, Roundup juries started awarding gazillion dollar judgments.
Bayer stock closed today at just under $16.
Roundup has been around for about 50 years if I remember correctly. All of a sudden one person claims he use it and got lymphoma form it and a jury decides to award him millions for that story. Now it’s 42 billion? Pretty soon someone will sue God for giving them cancer and a jury will award them $1 trillion but I’d like to see the lawyers try to collect on that one.
If there is really cancer involved, that is a ridiculous award amount. I doubt even JG Wentworth would back a Structured Settlement on that. It’ll be tied up for years in appeals. I’m sure Monsanto would have settled for something much less but still plenty for the plaintiffs that they could at least get while they’re still alive.
Two thousand million dollars!
Insane
California must like weeds.
Can't say I didn't see this one coming.
Results
Among 54 251 applicators, 44 932 (82.8%) used glyphosate, including 5779 incident cancer cases (79.3% of all cases). In unlagged analyses, glyphosate was not statistically significantly associated with cancer at any site. However, among applicators in the highest exposure quartile, there was an increased risk of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) compared with never users (RR = 2.44, 95% CI = 0.94 to 6.32, Ptrend = .11), though this association was not statistically significant. Results for AML were similar with a five-year (RRQuartile 4 = 2.32, 95% CI = 0.98 to 5.51, Ptrend = .07) and 20-year exposure lag (RRTertile 3 = 2.04, 95% CI = 1.05 to 3.97, Ptrend = .04).
Conclusions
In this large, prospective cohort study, no association was apparent between glyphosate and any solid tumors or lymphoid malignancies overall, including NHL and its subtypes. There was some evidence of increased risk of AML among the highest exposed group that requires confirmation.
