The Cuban government announced Friday that it is launching widespread rationing of chicken, eggs, rice, beans, soap and other basic products in the face of a grave economic crisis. Commerce Minister Betsy Díaz Velázquez told the state-run Cuban News Agency that various forms of rationing would be employed in order to deal with shortages of staple foods. She blamed the hardening of the U.S. trade embargo by the Trump administration. Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments of subsidized fuel that Cuba used for power and to earn hard currency on the open market.

Trump’s message to Cuba should be: Raul, you and your henchmen thugs have 24 hours to get out. After that, the island will be locked down until you do leave. End of message.
This is the one time when I’m glad it’s Trump’s fault.
Not wishing any suffering on the Cuban or Venezuelan people, but, they should be blaming the only people responsible for their plight, that being their leadership, and those in the population who wanted their communist revolution.
Remember the “Domino Theory”? It looks like it works in reverse as well.
My crazy hypothesis is that the Latin American elite wants to empty out its lower class, browner population upon the USA. So they create this actual starvation situation and then point to America where the poor are so fat they can barely walk.
Trump’s message to Cuba should be "Hey Raul, If you're not out of Cuba within 24 hours I'm coming down there with the most powerful military the planet has ever seen and hang you from the nearest tree."

I fear for our nation because there are so many both stupid and educated people who believe a lie - despite the reality (USSR (past), Venezuela, Cuba, China).
Stupid is as stupid does! If we don't learn from our mistakes or the mistakes of others, we will repeat them. Sad but true.
Maybe Obama will stop by for a ball game and a hot dog... well a ball game anyway.
Why is it our fault? What is it they can't get from the U.S. that they can get from all the other countries they trade with?

Yet - YET (I say) they STILL have ‘money’ to run the generators and jamming transmitters that jam Radio Marti on shortwave, night after night, day after day, week after week.
A communist regime HAS to have its priorities, one must assume.
Due to shortages, people are being forced to use both sides of the toilet paper... (Time to economize!)
They claim that we’re greedy capitalist exploiters. OK. So why do they want to do business with us so badly? Shouldn’t they be celebrating the fact that their people aren’t being exploited at all?
Also, why is it that not doing business with the US alone destroys their economy as they claim? Is the US the only source of wealth in the entire world? And if so ummmmmm.......
