Actually, I hadn’t thought of that line of reasoning.

JFK allowed Communism to infest the Southern Hemisphere in 1961, and we, apparently, STILL haven’t learned our lesson!

>>> Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments of subsidized fuel that Cuba used for power and to earn hard currency on the open market. <<<

so the socialists can’t support the communists and it’s the capitalist’s fault?

same as it ever was

One’s dead, the other soon, but yes it’s their country. No change for 60 plus years. We don’t own the place, but we can impose sanctions to put pressure on. We need to stop thinking we own everything and concentrate on our own problems. Incursions into other sovereign countries has proven to be a bad idea for well over half a century.

Our enemies think they own everything. The sad thing is, if we act like we don’t (as much as we don’t want to act like we do), they will act like they do more and more. Lesson of history.

Or obamaumao bring the Rolling Stones to perform again— just for the legations of other countries, since no regular Cuban could ever afford the tickets. That is— once they get Mick Jagger out of Cardiac Intensive Care at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC (that’s right— the “Stoned Roller” couldn’t get the best care in the UK even under the table non National Health Service). Bring Jagger in a wheelchair sponsored by pro-obamaumao care— AARP. Yeah— that’s the ticket. Time is right for “dying in the wheelchair” mr. street fighting fighter for communist rights- not the working people of Cuba. What farce.

A block away in a living quarters area— basic human nutrition is not available because the Communist leaders (Raul and the new clown) siphon off what comes from the former Venezuelan oil shipments (sold on the oil market elsewhere for.... yep US Dollars!) paying for THEIR food— not in the peso stores of the starving serf peasants.

What a country— and Canadians go there to find cuban starving whores (male and female) and to ‘paaahty’ while videoing their great social concern for the condition of the country they regularly rape (see: Nickel mining concession and the Castro’s nickel a day paid to workers for the contract).

Why not? Castro was a murdering savage along with his execution monkey Guevara. Bringing these criminals to justice is long over due.

"They [personal gardens in USSR] outproduced the collective farms by miles."

My recollection of the situation was that the change in policy to allow personal gardens resulted in 1% of the land creating 24% of the produce. Capitalism [enlightened self-interest coupled with private property] works.

How telling is it that Cuba must ration chickens and eggs.

Now let's see ... Where do chickens come from? Eggs?
And where do eggs come from? Chickens?

I'm no farmer but I think the solution might be to simply leave people alone to figure this out.

You or your sons first. We have enough murdering right here at home not being delt with. I love all the keyboard commandos’ on here that think we should spend lives and treasure on every flavor of the week.

VTenigma. First, I'm third generation Navy so I'm afraid you're going to have a hard time getting the "keyboard commando" canard sticking with me. Second, what's up with the "We have enough murdering right here at home..." BS? Yeah, we have our share of miscreants but what does that have to do with allowing Marxist butchers to thrive in our immediate neighborhood? They're currently driving tens of thousands of people out of their own countries into ours. Undoubtedly a good proportion of these people wont make for model citizens. This can only end in tears.

I’m not sure what you are saying. Are we to invade Cuba, or are we to invade the Central American countries, or both? As far as being a keyboard commando, while your service to this country deserves my respect, that does not change the fact.

First our Commander in Chief proposes to do no such thing as you are saying he should do.

Second let’s deal with the probable and immediate. President Trump is using sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela to effect change and rightfully so. To engage in incursions to these countries at this point risks support of the American people and condemnation world wide. If he were to do as you wish and the latter things occur, and against the backdrop of our own propaganda media and the Democrat house of representatives how would his re-election chances look?

Not that his decisions here be made based on re-election, but do you honestly think the House is going to pass a declaration of war against these counties? I don’t and I think it would certainly open the door to impeachment and probably conviction by going rouge and unilaterally invading these countries. If Trump doesn’t win re-election and finish the job of undoing the deep state and securing the border the game, as well as the U.S.A. is over.

This is the long game, not some immediate gratification issue based on some wants by people who don’t have an inside track.

Third the murdering, rape, human trafficking, drug trafficking and the general lawless behavior on our southern border have a heavy deep state component. This is the war that needs to be fought and until Trump was sorely neglected and even encouraged by past administrations. This is where Trump is focused and rightfully so. Against ALL the political and media forces in this county the president is moving these issues forward by sheer strength of will while some of us sit back behind our keyboards and criticize him for not doing things our way.
