Officials Merely Question 'Official Story' of Notre Dame Fire, TWO FoxNews Anchors CUT THEM OFF

The media is circling the wagons over the Notre Dame fire, and even FoxNews has joined in the enforced groupthink.

As I detailed in a prior article, the only explanation for Monday's monstrous fire and destruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is that it was a "construction accident."

This, despite the fact that, as French police confirmed, there were no construction workers on-site at the time of the fire, and that there had been a series of arson attacks and desecration of other French churches in the past three months.

But on all of the mainstream media, these facts are not being reported, and -- apparently -- can not even be discussed on air.

On FoxNews this afternoon, anchor Shepard Smith was dutifully reporting the "construction work" that likely caused the fire (and it may well have done so).

Then Shep brought on an actual French elected official, Philippe Karsenty, who one would think would have a bit more knowledge about a incident in France than would an American newsreader.

Mr. Karsenty discussed his horror at the legendary cathedral's near-total destruction. But then he merely mentioned the fact that it may well have been arson or even terrorism -- and all hell broke loose.

“Even the Nazis didn’t dare destroy it [Notre Dame cathedral],” Karsenty said. “And you have to know for the last year we’ve had churches desecrated each and every week all over France so of course you will hear the story of the politically correct which will tell you it is probably an accident.”

There is a great series I discovered while perusing documentaries from the library. It is called “Civilisation: A Personal View by Kenneth Clark” . Mr. Clark chronicles the history of art in Western Europe from the fall of Rome to the present day. He makes the case that the most genuine output that a Civilization produces is reflected in its art.

In one of the beginning episodes he is standing in front of Notre Dame. He makes the point that while it’s hard to define what a Civilization is he can certainly recognize when he sees it, and that Notre Dame is an excellent example of it .

Whether it turns out this fire of Notre Dame was accidental or Sudden Jihad Syndrome, Europe has foolishly and cravenly opened its doors to the same people that have been struggling to take Europe down for 14 centuries. This fire is now a prime example of the fall of Civilization in Europe . It’s a good thing Kenneth Clark did not live to see it, even if he clearly saw the decay of art that is modern art.

I might add the BBC came out with a sequel to this called Civilisations It’s very much enamored with the utter decay of art which now is hostile to the progress and rational thought that was the hallmark of Western Civilization. Any surprise the BBC felt the need for that addendum to the original series?

Amen to that! I was fortunate that my father started showing me Civilization, and another gem, Ascent of Man (Dr. J. Bronowski) when I was only 10 years old. It fascinated me, anmd I have watched it with my own children.
