There are many hardworking professionals in the VA, the various federal health agencies, researchers, immigration officials including ICE, ATF workers, etc. Etc.
I’m sick of these wild “ those terrible Fed employees!”...that come out like clockwork.
Go get educated on the whole federal system, then make reasoned suggestions for change.
I have zero sympathy for federal employees, aside from those in the military or in critical positions in Homeland Security and in the DOJ.
Government is not a career choice. It is not something to be proud of or to profit from, other than the fact that you want to give back to your country. Even Thomas Jefferson's headstone has no mention of him being President, and I bet when Trump leaves us, he'll make no mention of it either.
Gov’t workers are overpaid compared to the private sector in many ways.
If you come over to the federal prison HINT bring lunch and a weapon. We can send the paid officers home. Or we can blindly follow your point and send all the guards home and steal their paychecks so you feel better. It’s amazing how idiotic some people are. Is the military a career choice?
Privatize the VA.
Congress needs to take at at least a 50% cut in pay in the light of a 21 trillion dollar deficit, which they enabled.
Any observation as to what percentage of your fellow workers share your conservative political ideology?
You just don’t want to actually get educated or do any research to see the reality..it’s easier just to throw out General talking points...

I will probably get a 1 to 2 percent raise this January, so the feds, most of whom are probably doing a bit more handsomely than I, can suck it up or take the 1.9 percent.
I didn’t see anything about stopping Bonuses or Step Increases.
I have as much sympathy for the General Schedule Employees as they have had for me.
I specifically excluded the military and Homeland Security personnel from being cut, which would include federal prisons and GITMO.
The VA is terrible. Like I told people, to their dismay, as far back as 2015, just get rid of it. Let the states and private agencies handle veterans’ concerns. One person called this suggestion asinine, even though he was complaining about the VA.
