Do you have any idea how our system of government works?
Do you? Congressmen assault and harass women. Then have them anonymously paid off on the government dime. It’s far past time the careerist beltway scum in both parties are outed for the human debris they are.
This is your last chance to get this wall funded, Mr. President.
If you kick the can down the road again, you lose, and so do we.
AWOL Ryan and The Turtle are leaving POTUS bare behind to the wind. I read some nonsense anonymous trial balloon quote today from a GOPe Congress source saying they want to punt the wall to the NEXT Congress so they can “get the new Dem Congress on record opposing the wall.” That is totally insane and disrespectful of both POTUS and the GOP platform they were elected to support.
The Party of Lincoln is flatlining. No life at all. Dead. RIP.
My son was in Hawaii during the last shutdown-couldnt visit The Arizona.
USS Arizona Memorial is closed for repairs now.
“Costs would be likely in the billions of dollars”
Even if we partially shut down the government it still costs us more than when it is running? Trump needs to deal with this. People that are not working should not be paid. We need to save money during government shutdowns not spend even more.
What a pathetic bastard he is.
Thanks for the link-—putting cones on the road to prevent tourists from far and wide from seeing Rushmore.
.
on the taxpayers' dime....
There will be lots of disappointed people.
Friends of mine were in London recently and Big Ben was completely covered in scaffolding———also for repairs.
A necessary evil,I guess.
.
Dear Mr. President,
PLEASE either shut down the government or close the border until further notice a.k.a. The RATS and GOPe capitulate to your demands to fully fund the construction of our desperately needed WALL!!
I remember that one——FR was in a tizzy when the vets were locked out.
Disgraceful.
.
It’s not even close to a shutdown. Park rangers get a few days off and that is it.
Just pointing out nothing works. Need to get back to the full rules of law.
Can always revoke the executive order Kennedy signed giving federal employees the right to unionize. Reform the silly pay system. Use checks and balances to oversee and expose fraud like a slush fund to pay off sexual harassment cases with no transparency.
Yes, a strongman would be nice. Hell, just someone with some balls would be nice. When you can get rolled by Chuckie Schumer and Botox Nancy, sad.
He has to do it or the Dems will use this to show that Trump can be beaten and will frame him for that lost — and the lost promise.
The GOP is useless. Pointless.
It serves no purpose whatsoever.
It is the worst political party ever.
It has no future.
Yes. And since post office is one of the few thing that the states have actually constitutionally authorized Congress to do where domestic policy is concerned, consider this.
Even if there is a federal government shutdown it is only a politically correct shutdown. This is because, for as long as the post office is open, the federal government is still basically 100% operational regarding its very limited domestic constitutional duties the post office.
In other words, if the post office stays open, the shutdown will affect federal spending programs that are based on powers and revenues that the corrupt feds have stolen from the states, state revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"... the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Federal Constitution, is in the States, and not in the Federal Government [emphasis added]." Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe (See middle of third column.)
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
75% of ALL federal activities are already fully funded until September 30, 2019. Neither side gives a rat’s azz.
Extremely interesting. I imagine that Trump knows this.
Can federal employees collect unemployment?
Whoa. They’re using the word “partial” in the headline....
Hmmmmm, am I reading too much into that...?
